The body and outfits look nearly identical to me, not a big upgrade like from DX15 to the new Sparrow. Only noticeable thing are the cloak and heads.

^ Agree - While the new sculpts are better and I'll definitely keep my eye out for the new neutral sculpt if prices aren't insane for me it isn't a must like upgrading the Luke Jedi with the newer Mando/Bespin sculpt.

I also prefer the crazy if inaccurate old angry expression over the new one.

Also lifting the head on the DX with earth magnets and tilting the head down with eyes up does wonders for that figure.

Solo Maul is a superb figure, but the Clone Wars Maul is a piece of shjt

DX16/17 is a...decent figure except the fat@ss factor , the bloodfin feels great in hand but overall just an overpriced piece of plastic.

I don't mind the magnetic heads of the V1 set, I just use them on my old Jin-Roh figures as an alternative.

I still think the old SS V2 Maul head is really good.

I hodgepodged my old HT and SS together with a different body. The HT outfit is vastly superior to Sideshows.

I was finally able to purchase the Sideshow v2 at the same time HT went up for PO, and I had been seeing in hand shots of Sideshow for a long time and loved the look of it.

My regrets in choosing Sideshow are primarily over the lousy body (it was my first Sideshow figure in like a decade and I didn’t anticipate their bodies still sucking) and non-posable eyes. I still think the personality in the Sideshow portrait is more Maul than HT’s original heads.

I wasn’t able to buy the HT v1 in addition to Sideshow, but I was able to buy parts of his costume and it visually elevated the Sideshow figure so much.

The new version looks a lot sharper than the DX17. I'm liking the more accurate vibrant red colour on the sculpts. And the painted on tattoos are a huge improvement over the sculpted-on ones.

I still think the old man Maul version from Solo is HT best effort yet in getting a likeness to Park.

That new neck/head peg connector has me intrigued.

Nah, that Solo and TCW Maul heads was easily the worst sculpts they've done for the character imo. Had zero likeness. They were both huge disappointments for me.

I may be in the minority here, but the more pics I see of the new one the more I think I might like the old heads.

While yes, the new one does look more like Ray Park and is more screen accurate with the painted lines rather than the sculpted, I think the older looks like a much better idealized Darth Maul. Meaner and grittier looking. More evil and Bad Ass... More menacing as a Sith with the other baddies.

I'd still like a shot at getting a parted out new head to have both, but not for probably what they will sell for and how hard it will be to get one. I could put one on my TCW Maul that I bought parted out as I hate that head. I have the original open mouth head on that body.
