The Solo portrait looks just like Ray Park from that movie, it even made me wonder why the TPM sculpt wasn't as good.

The new TPM heads are the best yet though.
I'm having trouble letting go of my Solo Maul even though I have the new one on preorder. The head sculpt is awesome and who doesn't like bionic legs??

I think he looks great here from the Figure Hideout as usual! I’m not sure how I’ll have him posed yet, but I do like how he looks with the hooded robe on. I wonder how soon Sideshow might get this since their expected window is still for April.

Is there a wire down the center of the hood?

I haven't seen any video mention it, but one did show that the back of the hood is stitched down in the back.

Given how nice the hood has looked in most images of it so far, that seems like a decent enough solution to get the hood to lay well.

Nah, that Solo and TCW Maul heads was easily the worst sculpts they've done for the character imo. Had zero likeness. They were both huge disappointments for me.
The Solo Maul sculpt is awesome. It’s based on that specific look. I actually think it’s one of the better Hot Toys portraits I have in my own collection 😅

Is that not just a slightly altered TCW Maul head? (can't remember which came first)

Yeah, I hate it lol. I see zero Solo RP in that sculpt. None. Ziltch. Notta.

🤷

Solo came first.

His face had aged and looked different to what we were used to in TPM.

And I thought the figure portrait was pretty faithful to it albeit idealized like most Hot Toys portraits.

Man, HT needs to start doing wires down the center. Medicom did it right from almost 2 decades ago. Still the best sewn Maul cloak to date. Material off but I'll be using that for this.

It's unfortunate, but for now, I set the bar for HT at getting the shape right and having the hood usable. The robe for ROTS Obi-Wan is atrocious, you have to use magnets and odd folds just to get it to look remotely decent and like Kenobi looks in the movie, and given that he had it up for multiple scenes, it's not like it could be passed off as hey, they didn't care because it doesn't need to go up.

How does the Medicom robe work with the DX Maul? I have used it with my Sideshow custom, but it feels a bit snug on him, but it is passable.
