Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

the point is, we did OUR OWN score here in sideshow freaks

out OWN members voted and the movie would get a 40% (meaning rotten)

So sure, we can ignore IMDB or Rotten tomatoes, sure, but our OWN voting score also has it as below average in satisfaction.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Well I certainly never point to either score as "proof" of a film's quality or lack thereof, that's your shtick. ;)

Right, you only post box office to validate a films quality, I forgot ;)

That's an indictment against this site, not TLJ, lol.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

And what was the audience rating on BP again, lol.

I hope BP surpasses TLJ.

Clearly Black Panther is the winner in having the most fans around the world in the 10's of millions!! It's been the most anticipated movie for decades. He easily outshines the 40+ years of SW fandom worldwide. Waiting to see Luke Skywalker on the big screen after his near 35 year hiatus pales in comparison to T'challa finally receiving his own well deserved movie. Darth Vader doesn't hold a candle to the likes of Killmonger. I mean really, little kids have been told tales of Wakanda, the one true Utopia on Earth, by their parents since their birth...

Now that the movies out I'm excited to finally take the family on Vacation there this summer. Been planning it for years. Even got reservations at the Kings palace and a private tour of Shuri's work shop... :yess:

Exactly, this is just a forum for collectors, not trolls or people with agendas. It speaks a lot to the reception.

Actually no, but I do laugh every time someone points to TLJ's "better than BP box office" as proof that people didn't like it, lol.

Just like I laugh whenever people make out the ones who don’t like this film to be a ‘vocal minority’ ‘weaponizing rt’ :lol

Logic doesn’t seem to work unfortunately

And it sounds like you’ve got a trip to Disney world planned in a couple of years :lol

Yeah clearly the haters represent the majority of the audience.

Oh wait...

So many infuriated/disgusted people making it the highest grossing film since TFA, top rated blu-ray (because nothing drives home hatred like adding a movie to your permanent collection after watching it multiple times on the big screen,) etc. ;)

Man, you guys really can't follow a point to save your lives can you. :cuckoo: Film quality is not the same thing as film popularity. Those weren't even--eh, nevermind. Such a waste of time even giving you guys the benefit of the doubt.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Anyone else curious as to how Rey is going to get a new lightsaber? Are we to just assume the books she stole will have instructions or how to's? A wiki perhaps.

She will holo-project a saber into her hand (along with holo-projecting all of her hair to blond, though people she knows won't seem to notice it.)

box office and dvd sales doesnt equal quality either, which you and jyebro have brought up before

And you clearly have no idea why we've brought it up then even after I literally spelled it out over just the last few posts. Crazy.

Quite correct. But a films popularity at the BO will trump the film's quality every time, no?

Perfect example for TLJ's success? :monkey3

but even your point wasnt really that correct because a lot of people might buy it to complete the collection

How many people have Thor 2 or Iron man 2 JUST so that they have the avengers collection?

that wouldn't mean they are popular or well liked. Iron man 2 is considered the worst marvel movie yet it did incredibly well.
