Stop. More like OT purist like you who didn?t like change and cried when it wasn?t what you wanted.

You are aware that this comment could sum up the ST haters feelings of the ST films.. It wasn?t what they wanted.. Luke was supposed to be a perfect hero, Han would never leave Leia etc....

Can we both agree that critics of both the PT and or the ST have more to complain about then just not getting what they wanted?

What?s funny is that the worst of the ST films is the most like the PT.

As for all this talk about the PT making a comeback and being better then the ST.

I agree that as a trilogy it?s a better story and has more toy selling imagination. It ends there. Other then two solid action scenes in TPM Nothing about the PT can be seen as good filmmaking.

You can love ROTS as much as you want but the only reason anyone likes it is because they watch it through their nostalgia colored glasses. So many awkward scenes, bad acting, goofy humor, and poor pacing. The film that everyone was waiting for was and is a failure at what it tried to do.

I am not saying that the ST is some master filmmaking class but at least the actors could act, the script was not full of cringe ( accept for the PT style TLJ) and the films felt more in line with the OT.

But I will never forget what a mess I thought TFA and TLJ were. TROS was a mess also but I felt it was a fun mess that felt more like a SW film then the last 5 released films in the saga.

As I said before.. Pick your poison.

Better world building and complete story or better acting, directing, and screenplays

I can find things to enjoy out of both but I can see why both are greatly flawed.

We will have to wait and see what happens with the younger generation and their feelings towards these films. I doubt they will have the issues we all had / have.

Probably won't hate them, they just won't care enough to discuss/revisit them or possibly won't even remember they existed.

Nah. That?s your opinion. And that?s cool. But when rots was released it was well liked and people accepted it. Nostalgia had nothing to do with it. You just have a warped view cause you hate the PT but I distinctly remember people liking rots when it released . Flaws and all. ST on the other hand I see just being buried and forgotten by both fans and Disney

You speak the truth. ROTS was huge. The ST was a flop.
I think for some reason ROTS wounded Jaws greatly and he just hasn't gotten over it.

Nah. JAWS doesn?t like PT but his reasons make more sense then khev and jye who only don?t like it cause it?s not OT enough or whatever. He does make good points. ROTS is an amazing film but it does had lots of bad in it and I can see why someone can dislike it. However for all its faults it?s still better written and told than the ST.

Sadly jaws world will turn upside down once khev reveals he?s doomcock

Well said!

True, ROTS tends to get unfairly lumped in with "the PT" even though (IMHO) it was much better, and better received, than the first two.

The same was true of TFA - domestic box office champ, 93% on RT. It was only later (not unlike ROTS) that people started picking it apart. And let's be honest, if RJ hadn't subverted expectations with TLJ and alienated so many SW fans, those same fans would have likely been more forgiving of TFA's derivative plot. Regardless, its being perched at the top of the all-time box office list means it won't be "buried and forgotten" anytime soon.

I await the next Disney trilogy that makes us all look back at the ST with found memories. :lol

I can hear it now: at least the ST was well acted, at least it had the OT cast, at least it was competently directed, at least it didn't look so cheap, at least it had John Williams score, at least it wasn't made for 8 year olds, etc...

That's pretty much what we're already saying about it when comparing it to the PT, lol.

I think the pendulum will swing back to a very childish form of Star Wars for the next installment, one that can capture a new, younger generation. Expect Transformers level attention span cinematography and more poo-poo jokes.

Broom Boy will have his revenge.

A very likely possibility especially with Taika Waititi writing and directing the next film.

Even he may not be manic enough for the next generation. I'm talking about the next trilogy... assuming there is another trilogy and Disney just doesn't move into simple one-offs.

Next movie will have 55 plots with 145 character arcs resolved every 45 seconds with spoken dialogue at 1.75x speed with live streaming audience reactions in the theater lol
