A classic example of the young assuming that their own personal knowledge = the collective knowledge of the world.
Probably because of Colt 45 lol
Being the only black dude with a main role bought him a ton of goodwill and notoriety.
Daisy Ridley might never become a household name but she is still my # 1 choice from all of SW to sit on my face.
Sorry Ford.
"I'll take 'mental pictures I was NOT expecting to have when I woke up this morning' for 500 Alex."
"What is 'Harrison Ford sitting on jye's face.'"
"Correct!"
lol

Seriously? How old are you?
BDW has been around since the 70's... Mahogany... ESB... a little movie called Batman.... in a world of films with few black actors, Billy Dee was the smooth malt liquor of Black Actors.
Most of the dudes on here were like born in the 50s which surprises me cause I didn?t know people were interested in collecting back then.
Lol this one guy got mad cause I said hot toys would never make toys from jaws. It?s just a fact. Only hardcore fans would want three old fishermen guys. They wouldn?t sell.
Anyway. Yea lots of older peeps here. Always surprised. They hated millennials. But luckily a lot of the older guys could blatantly see that ST was soulless and played to there nostalgia. Jye sadly doesn?t care.
I remember a lot of the older fans accepting ROTS and being mad at the other 2. It was annoying . Then some old farts made hr long videos saying how bad the PT was. Idk weird fans man.
It?s funny cause jye?s jokes come off as very old mannish lol.
This place makes me feel young tho. I?m old as hell now. I?m in my late 20s now. I can feel my bones start to rust
Lol I mean they aren?t old but they don?t stack up to guys like iron man or Batman. They aren?t exactly household names they just sorta Star in a iconic movie but only hardcore fans know them. I don?t know why anyone would want figures of them anyway, all they did was get drunk , sing , fish , and one got eaten. I?d much rather have jaws then those three

And a classic case of an older movie expert being arrogant & condescending
It's a piece of cinematic history, part of the inception of an era from a time when there was just...less of everything. With that said, I wouldn't want 'em either; I'm pretty set on superheroes, sci-fi/fantasy and Kung Fu, but I get why people might want them. I was way too young to even be aware of Jaws when it came out, but I have memories of its theatrical re-release from '79 I guess. Still too young to see it but there were toys, board games, newspaper ads...
You guys really like to criticize people who don?t know things about older movies, yet I?ve seen countless times where this place has absolutely no grasp on modern pop culture.
From arguing about why some random Imperial isn?t getting a Hot Toy then shocked to see a Qui-Gon released,
to not realizing the popularity of the PT, to not realizing that your 80s movies aren?t the hot sellers you think they are...
Not cool to criticize someone for not knowing some 1970s movie when a great chunk of y?all don?t know some things about young adults interests of today.

I love classic movies and Jaws is a favorite. I will 46 next month so my taste gravitates to older movies I grew up with. I like alot of contemporary movies but they are a sign of the times like all entertainment and I don't get into them as much as the classics for the most part. Nothing against them but my tastes are different. I do not see the point is people making videos bashing stuff they don't like. I don't care much for the newest Star Wars trilogy but wouldn't waste time making videos on why I don't like it. Discussion is one thing since we can all give points to consider and just everyone here is pretty entertaining in their own way.
I think that is why older people collect period... I dont think I have any modern collectibles. Anything I have is from older films that i loved as a kid or comics I read as a kid.
As for Brody, Quint, and Hooper not selling. I don't know anything about What Hot toys really sells. I know them as mostly Star Wars and comic book toy makers.. Do they even do things that are based on older films??
I don't know how a Brody, Quint or Hooper would sell... I know that I would buy them .. I know that JAWS has a much bigger following then some give it credit for. I literally know 4 people in my personal life that I have met at different places and times in my life that think its the best movie ever.. Which I am always surprised about.. So many of the popular youtube personalities have it listed as their fav movie also.. (or top 10 at least)
I didn't know what "shipping"' meant.. That's for sure.. I'll still never use it in a sentence
I tell you what i don't recognize anymore.. Many of the new "celebs" that the paparazzies follow around.. Sometimes I find out they are from reality shows.. I have no idea who anyone is at the MTV music awards anymore

I do have some MCU but it connects to the comics I read as a kid. Iron Man would be the exception; I ignored that character until RDJ brought him to life, so that's as modern as I get; everything else is nostalgia-driven to one extent or another.
The interesting side-effect collecting has had, is highlighting what I've outgrown and what's remained resonant into adulthood. When I started out I was drawn to memories but it narrowed down to resonance.
I think it's been quite a few years since they stepped outside of the corporate box. Used to be you'd see something like Platoon or whatever, but that's over, which is a real pity.
I don't think they'd sell many, to be honest. They flog Disney licenses now and demographics (and economics) are changing.
My work experience has been across industries that have a strong youthful component, so between that and how I spend my time generally, I think I often (inadvertently) stay abreast of what the kids are saying...LOL...but only to a degree. There's some slang no self-respecting forty-something should be using. Although the *way* adults act and comport themselves is changing. If you saw my girlfriend and I texting, you may not be able to tell if we were 30 or 45 or what...
I've never been fully aware of celebrities. I've tended to ignore pop music and celebrities in general don't interest me; I know who A-list actors are (generally?) but after that it's a blur.
Things also come and go much faster than they used to. Infoglut and media saturation, blink and you'll miss it.
That's a poison spreading through the internet. 'Take-downs' that don't mean anything. Endless snark. I think it's a risk inherent to contemporary digital culture; one I'm trying to actively avoid these days.
Yes and how many normal people in this day and age would know of Colt 45 or Mahogany? Not many I'll bet.
