Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

But C-3PO's revelation is not a major plot point.. So while stupid, it can be ignored (not really :lol)

Rey's parents.. That was set up to be a major plot point but.. You know.. Johnson had to IM3 it.

And the ST did something just as bad.. It ruined our OT characters lives.. No happy ending after Jedi.. Han and Leia? Divorced absentee parents. Luke? A failure and a Hermit. Their victory? Nothing but a empty promise :lol Even R2 D2 cant be happy in the ST.

Nah.. ST was just as guilty as PT in ruining our fav characters.

That’s it....

But but but but but but but but but

but but but but but but but but but.....

Leia placed Poe in charge at the end how did it not work out for him?

Ohhhh JAWS you’re breaking my heart.

You’re going down a path I can not follow.

:lol

Dude you know how much crap we had to endure just to get to that??

It worked out for him because he "finally had to guts to call off an attack".. Which is one he should not have called off because, again if Luke did not show up they all would have been screwed. Finn was the only one who knew what he was doing.. He should be in charge :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

This is a 100% fact :)

Too bad that wooden acting, bad dialogue, and below par CGI really dragged those films down to the sewers :lol

ROTS is the only save face PT movie. Technically You could say just watch ROTS Then OT. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I do because I can look past the frumpy female asian aesthetics that drives your spazz’s and snikt’s of the world into frothing madness.

Could’ve she been fleshed out better and given a more solid purpose and foundation of course she could’ve but so could’ve many of the RO resistance side characters and no one is complaining about them.

After losing her sister she had no tolerance for weakness going as far as doing a citizens arrest on a resistance hero that she was in awe being in his presence at first until she discovered what he was up to.

DJ’s betrayal certainly had an impact on her as did having a near death execution experience evident by how she learned to honor her sister’s death for the resistance in a different manner which was by saving Finn instead of letting him go out like her sister did.

All of the themes on heroics, selflessness, sacrifice, selfishness and failures connected all of the character arcs into one grand theme of survival for the right reasons.

Again she wasn’t perfect but for a connective side character good enough.

Regarding her acting, zero

I couldnt care less about her looks or ethnicity if her character was interesting.
I thought she was incredibly cheesy though. Every line, every scene made me cringe.
I do think it has something to do with a European mindset as opposed to a US one. We find different things cheesy that our American brethren seem not to.
Honestly everything she appeared on screen there were groans in the audience.
She was a Disney brand addition - her back story cardboard.
Her bomber sister was a hell of a lot more interesting and characterful.

See even you couldn't say that with a straight face. :lol Making Darth Vader the creator of C-3PO literally changes the context of every single scene that they're in in the OT and it's just stupid. In 1977 we were introduced to a world where all these amazing characters with diverse backgrounds intersect with one another but then TPM comes along and says that the opening scene of SW has Leia running around the Blockade Runner with two droids owned by *both* her parents (Mom had R2, Dad made 3PO) making pretty much every single named character in the opening of SW related to one another.

That is just so stupid and tainting any classic/iconic scene from the OT is just unforgivable.

Rey's parents.. That was set up to be a major plot point but.. You know.. Johnson had to IM3 it.

Feeling bad because of how things turn out for beloved characters isn't remotely the same as the characters themselves being ruined. :lecture And yes I know there are many that will say that Luke got ruined by TLJ but you and I know differently. :)

And I've been fine with the notion of bittersweet endings for the main characters ever since it came out many years ago that Ford and Lando almost died in ROTJ with Leia leading the New Republic heart-broken and alone while Luke went off and trained new Jedi by himself.

If you like Maul, Duel of the Fates, and Qui Gon you should be able to enjoy the pod race well enough to give The Phantom Menace a pass. Come on now Khev, you're just being stubborn :)

That pod race is some of the worst CGI ever put to mainstream cinema. I don't fault Khev in that regard at all. I'd honestly rank Episode I as the second most unwatchable mainstream film I've ever seen along with Pet Semetery.

This 100x. The other two prequels along with the ST are a waste of time IMO.

Kong is still impressive even today. Jar Jar wasn't very impressive even in 1999. Not after the 1993 T-rex. Nothing's been that staggering, except maybe Davy Jones in terms of realism. Now Jones was impressive.

:exactly:

Yeah, that's what I can't deal with. We don't need to see everything go to ***t. Sometimes a happy ending should be left at that. And the sequels didn't even bring anything new to maybe make it worthwhile...Empire Versus rebels again. New dark side jedi against new light side jedi - how original. And for an explanation on how all this happened again you have to read novels and comics. Meh.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Imagine if you will that she does tell him that. Poe knows the idea.. Hux is not an idiot and sends tie fighters.. Now Poe and his fellow fighters have to fight off an attack or two from the tie fighters.. Keep them off long enough until they reach the planet and use the cloak transport ships..

I don't know something exciting and/or intelligent would have been great.. Don't you think?? :lol

No way man I much prefer the entire FO fleet emerging out of hyperspace behind Leia's ship so that we could watch two hours of THIS:

TLJ is probably the happiest ending Luke’s had since ANH.

Save the day, get a medal.
Heroically save your sister while fulfilling death wish.
Burn your father’s corpse while bears play bongos.
Dismemberment/emotional pimp-smack.

Speaking of Ewoks starting 4/18 there will be an Ewok only army vs Empire mode in Battlefront 2 :panic:

Everytime a trooper is eliminated you spawn as a freaking Ewok with a rock slingshot and other weapons! :lol

Oh man if that doesn’t make you buy the game nothing will lol

Unfortunately in our lifetime we won’t have an Oasis I don’t even think in my son’s lifetime. Probably soon after though.

Imagine if Cameron approached the theater owners industry and asked if it was possible to install VR headsets on each seat for Avatar 2!

It’s a race to the grave but George RR Martin is ahead by a gin blossomed nose.

Haha what! I hadn’t heard of this. I had to look it up:

The ambush begins as Ewoks attack unsuspecting stormtroopers, using spears, Wisties, and other skills to take down their opponents. Each stormtrooper defeated spawns as another Ewok, multiplying until the Empire’s forces have been completely eliminated, and the Ewok celebration can begin. However, the stormtroopers’ superior training and firepower are more than a match for the Ewoks. Armed with a cadre of weapons as well as flashlights to pierce the darkness, players must hold back the Ewok’s ambush if they have a hope of surviving until an extraction team can arrive.

That sounds insanely crazy in the best way

It basically sounds like a zombie mode where you turn into ewoks :lol

Still no version of Obi-Wan on the horizon tho...
