Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

1. Blow up Yavin
2. See if it took the rebel moon with it
3. If the moon is still there destroy it with one final unobstructed shot

vs. orbiting the planet for 30 minutes while the Rebels attack you and/or the entire Alliance simply gets on ships and evacuates the solar system.

You literally just described the mindset as to why Hux didn't send bombers after Leia. Well done. :lol

As for Hoth, yeah, definitely best to give the rebels 20 extra minutes to escape rather than losing some bombers to the Rebels' three turrets. That totally sounds like Vader in ESB, looking out for the lives of his own men as he zero'd in on Skywalker, lol.

If only TLJ could have covered up its problems with something as good as a Hoth battle or the Death Star Assault then you would not hear from me :)

Wow your defense and 100% love of RO is crumbling like a sand castle in a tsunami lol

Googling the characters really JAWS lol

:lol :lol

You’re like Sorento in RPO you need Khev in your ear piece before debating with me :lol

:lol :lol

"It's a trick JAWS, quick tell him that you whenever you need to blow off steam you pop open a Tab, listen to Rush, and watch B-O-D-H-I R-O-O-K broadcast the message at the end of Rogue One!"

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Holy crap that sounds boring lol

Sometimes it is.. Being in the class room can be a bit tedious but I get to go out on the floor a lot of the time and be the hero to the Providers when they need help. We have a pretty big Hospital with lots of off site areas also.. So I get to travel and listen to music :)

Sometimes I am even posting on SSF :lol

For 12 years I use to work in Group Homes for Troubled Youth... That was not boring and I don't miss it :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

The one thing I will say that is bad about RO is I cant remember anyone's names... I typed in Bor and the Pilot is who came up :lol

Other than Jyn and Krennic, I don't remember a single character's name.

Not one.

Bor I only remember because jye brought him up.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Hey Jye!! Whenever I need to blow off stream I pop open a Tab, listen to Rush, and watch B-O-D-H-I R-O-O-K broadcast the message at the end of Rogue One!

Yeah.. They are impossible.. Red Letter Media made fun of that fact in their video.. Didn't agree with anything else but I LOL at that

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

At least it’s settled why the FO didn’t shoot down the Resistance and that Luke didn’t leave a map for everyone to find him.

I feel better everyday when that’s settled.

Uhm... no it hasn't been settled...
I haven't had the stomach to watch these movies again (I did watch TFA twice, for nostalgia's sake, but not TLJ), but I did come out of the theatre with the distinct impression that Luke had left to go find some wisdom, and that the maps left in R2 where meant as a way to find him... I might watch the movie just to check up on that.
As for the chase... no, definitely not explained.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

She insulted him by calling him "Captain." He responded by calling her "coward" and "traitor." I'm pretty sure that qualifies as standing up for himself. ;)

That's just being stupid. He resorted to name-calling instead of making a solid, intelligent argument.
But then again, there's nothing solid or truly intelligent about how the story and characters in TLJ were handled...

True he didn't spell out in detail the solid, intelligent reasons why they should disable Snoke's tracker or give solid, intelligent reasons why huddling into unshielded transports would make them sitting ducks. Oh wait...

The reason for the “chase” is explained in dialogue as it starts.

The map is less cut and dry but it’s in pieces, in undisclosed locations, with no instruction from Luke how to find them. The simplest read on that IMO is that they are not intended to be found.

Settled for Friday! Drinks on me, guys! :duff

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I'm also part of the very select RO Fan Club. But it grows larger every day and likely with each successive Star Wars film.

Can I be a part of your club?
I've been a fan of RO since day one!
It's the only new SW movie I've watched repeatedly. :bow

If you liked Luke, Snoke throne room scene, and Holdo's kamikaze then you should be able to enjoy the opening battle and Crait attack well enough to give the overall movie a pass. Come on now JAWS, you're just being stubborn. ;)

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Sorry JAWS I simply can’t accept forgiveness for the PT with simultaneous hatred for the ST.

That just screams blind forgiveness because it’s Lucas.

I was ready to say pro Lucas anti Kennedy but you like RO :lol

The former are not even movies they’re cartoons.

C’mon that just doesn’t compute.

Despite some wooden acting, some bad dialogue and some below par CGI, the universe building, the stories, the imagination and the design in the prequels are miles better than just about anything in the ST.

Clones > Ducktroopers
Maul > Kylo
Battle over Coruscant > Slow-Mo chase

Just to name a few.

Of course, feel free to bring up Jar Jar... :lol
However, Jar Jar was a monumental achievement (animation-wise) for the time.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Look I had to rate the SW films.. I cant help that they seem closer together then they really are
:lol

Perhaps this will help.

1. SW - 5 out of 5
2, ESB - 5 out of 5
3. RO - 4 out of 5
4. ROTJ - 3.5 out of 5

5. TPM - 2.5 out of 5
6. ROTS - 2 out of 5
7. TFA - 1.5 out of 5

8.AOTC - 1out of 5
9. TLJ - 1 out of 5

It has nothing to do with Lucas.. I can admit that the PT are not very good movies.. But neither are the ST... Both are bad but for very different reasons IMO.

ST have nothing that stands out in them. I can point to some cool action pieces and ideas in the PT but admittedly those cool moment are over shadowed by the bad dialogue and wooden acting.. But I like many of the ideas and the film just feel more like SW to me.. Flawed SW but SW nonetheless.

Both ST are better made films but are just not as interesting to me and nothing stands out in those films..

I have put all other SW films in my VD/VHS/DVD/BR over the years and would watch my fav moments from the films.. I still do it.. Sometimes I don't have the time or energy to watch ESB but I will watch Hoth battle or Saber Duel... I have done that with PT and RO also.

There is nothing.. Absolutely nothing that is worth my time with the ST to go and find and watch... Nothing stands out.. No cool action set pieces.. No Hoth Battle, Asteroid chase, rescue of the princess, Duel of the Fates, Ass Kicking Vader etc.. Nothing. Not as full scenes anyways.. Holdo Suicide is cool but not really worth putting in the disc for.

They completely lack imagination IMO... They completely lack being... SW
:(

That is my issue anyways..

I don't care who makes SW... Just make good SW and I will be happy... RO is a perfect example
:)
[SUB][/SUB]

Go back and look at my post from a few years ago about the PT.. I hated on them plenty.. The "Everything Great About" videos on YouTube made me a bit more forgiving and the ST made me appreciate them more.. They are not good films.. But they are better SW films then ST and it should not even be close since ST has original 3 in them.. Perhaps I feel that way because I was just a little younger when I saw the PT.. So they have had time to settle in and feel like SW.. I don't know.. All I know is.. I don't really enjoy anything about the ST.

Truer words have never been spoken. :lecture

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I just turned 47 today actually..

When I say I was younger.. I mean I was in my late 20s and early 30s... Either way the PT feels like SW to me.. That may be because of time..

Plus I got some sort of enjoyment out of all of them when they first came out.

Happy belated birthday dude!

Can I post it in FB?

I was going to say "if you're a 5-year-old", but then my 5-year-old second cousin once removed would take issue with that.

;)
