Holy smokes!!! We finally agree on something that covers the PT / OT / ST
That's Ben Burtt for you. I admit that the Stormtrooper blasters and Falcon cannons in TFA sounding different than the OT was pretty jarring for me. Thankfully RO recycled all the proper vintage sound effects.

Yes those Blasters and Cannon's sound effects really took me out of the movie... The blasters more then anything. One of many things that take away the feeling of SW for me in TFA

Yeah.. John has not been the same. I did like his reuse of themes in TLJ but it was all recycled.
PT has some great music but I think it peaked with TPM... AOTC and ROTS never quiet got there. Though both had some good themes.
None of them touch OT soundtracks though.. Exception being Duel of the Fates.

I love all 3 main themes from PT which are TPM (Duel), AOTC (Across) and ROTS (Battle).
I now watch the PT with only my speakers on and the TV off, great stuff.

Agreed with all, although the part in bold I can't corroborate because I don't remember much music from TLJ. I know he briefly played the ROTJ Luke & Leia theme for their one scene and that was nice.

I was honestly surprised by the musical refs in TLJ - just off the top of my head there was a nod to the opening pan of ESB (when you see the probe droids launched) at about the same moment in TLJ, and also a portion of The Asteroid Field plays when the Falcon is flying through the caverns on Crait. And then the more appropriate themes from OT characters that appear.
I quite like the TLJ soundtrack. I know many complained about the TFA music being lackluster (I liked that too because I'm a terrible apologist) but I felt the TFA score was more robust and somewhat prequelesque at moments.

In Hamill’s latest interview he mentioned that Carrie’s death caused major changes in Rian’s script as in the guy got dealt a bad hand.
Rian’s been getting all the hate for TLJ could it be he’s the one being a professional about whatever happened behind the scene with his script?
Meh who cares watch this instead....what a climax!

As much as I respect MH, at this point I feel something approaching pity for him, repeating this grievance for notoriety and playing to the fans.
He went on the record saying he thought the sequels were a terrible idea and only signed because he believed Ford would hold out and it would never happen.
And now he’s doing this OMG act and stroking the malcontents...
Whatevs. I still love him but it’s all very shticky.
