Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Think about this. At the end of ESB, Luke was beaten both physically and mentally. Han was tortured and frozen and taken away. Vader was or wasn't Luke's father.
Would Luke become a Jedi? Our heroes were in peril and we were left with lots of questions.

What about our heroes in TLJ?
What do we have to look forward to regarding our favorite characters in Episode 9? What challenges and hurdles do they need to overcome, what danger are they in? What challenge and devastating loss and pain has Rey endured through?

Finn- ......nothing
Rose .....nothing...well maybe overcoming her crash injuries ( if any)
Poe - nothing really
Leia - figuring out how they will end her character, that's about it
Kylo - turning to the light side?
Rey - turning Kylo to the light side? becoming a Jedi?
Hux - turned into buffoon in TLJ , if I were Domhall Gleason I wouldn't even return.
Luke - ghost?
Phasma - dead
Snoke - dead
DJ - who cares?

Were there any other characters?

Sad but true.

I feel like the ST saga ended already. The baby-broomers will fix everything.

I have no questions that need answering.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Yup like I said these are the most boring characters in star wars history. They have no struggles to overcome. Say what you want about the prequels but anakin had to struggle with his loyalty to the Jedi and leaving for his wife .

I don't see how SW survives all this. I really don't. Play it out in your head. It can't be fixed unless they erase or redo E8 and that's not gonna happen. KK & co are doubling down on SJWism despite all the downward spiral they're on. KK loved the first draft of RJ's inconceivable upside down world script. Han Solo will probably be turned into another Poe Dameron. SW is finished. No doubt about it.

Vice Admiral Gender Studies gets her own peg warmer.

Supposedly she actually survived and will be an older person in Episode IX. Maybe it's one of those JJ/Spock time jump things. This costume test image was leaked...

JJ is going to have to really come up with something special to write his way out of this, but in truth what is he going to follow up this story with? EP8 was sort of the final chapter this trilogy. All that was needed was the resolution of the Rey / Kylo storyline ( and that in turn would resolve the Resistance / First Order arc) and the story was over! lol. Rian Johnson could have ended the trilogy in the second film. Maybe he did...

The scars of TLJ will carry on to episode IX and that's were the true struggles for our heroes will begin:

Finn:.....Will deal with Rose's stalking, their "relationship" is bound to become an intergalactic Investigation Discovery episode where poor Finn will find his bloody demise at the hands of this crazy ****. :lol

Poe......I can see Poe Dameron regaining his masculinity just like Meat Loaf did in Fight Club. Maybe he'll turn to the Dark Side by some charismatic imaginary Sith Lord, who knows.

Rey.......She is the most powerful and also best at everything she does, albeit she is quite unpopular in the real world so she most probably will get lumped with more charismatic/popular characters thus introducing Guardians Of The Galaxy into the Star Wars mythos.

Emo Ren.....Shall remain Emo Ren.

What I can't possibly predict is how Broomboy's story will continue, after all he is the most important character in SW and the culmination of almost half a century of movies, comics and books. :monkey3

Watch JJ decide he's going to split Episode 9 into two parts -- Episode 9: Part 1 and Episode 9: Part 2

Thus a 4 part trilogy... and a way to mitigate Episode 8 without saying so.

Or start Episode IX with Finn waking up from his coma, implying that TLJ was just a bad dream.

what if they introduce time travel and they pull off a Back to the future 2 where they go back to the last jedi and fix all the problems

I love it - a second "real" Luke will be hiding behind a rock on Ah-choo frowning as he listens to his other self in the TLJ scenes - "I wouldn't say that! I need to raise my X-Wing and fly to the Battle of Not-Hoth and kick some First-Imperial *ss!"

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Anyone else hoping that now that the truth about Snyder's firing came out, we'll get the same regarding Edwards on RO and maybe even hear about the real reason behind Lord and Miller's departure?

Whatever happens, I just feel the days are numbered for the tower of Kennedy. In today's Hollywood nothing stays under wraps for long.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Jake Skywalker was a doppelganger. Time travel as a retcon device. Finn was just having a bad dream. An E8 remake. Whatever it takes. I'll take it.

Like in the USSR, the government made products that it believed people ought to want. Little boys want male action figures. They definitely don't want an unnatractive female figure. Girls don't play with action figures. Girls want Barbie dolls. Boys don't. But you'll still find Star Wars Barbie dolls in the boys toy section at Wal-Mart.
