I've had my fill of PT toys. I still have many of the SS versions. What was I thinking?

my reply wasnt for you, i was talking to rushmore because hes done that in every thread. hes always taking the high ground and hes always posted with a mightier than thou attitude whenever someone dislikes something he likes.
i know i said you guys but all of that is a response to the way he will come to a thread and always looks down on everybody if they are being negative

Nope, just checking in, as I haven't in a while. Find it funny that some of you just go on and on and on and on and on, about a film series you have said you are "done with". You don't sound done to me.

I didn't know my way of posting got so under your skin. I would hope most would take he high ground, not sure I have any more of a "mightier than thou" attitude than nybody else on this forum, including yourself.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

It's amazing how people obsesses over a series that only has two truly great movies while the rest are all mediocre - awful, isn't it? :lol

I agree, I have too much going on in my life to obsess over a movie that much, no matter how good or bad it was.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Thinking back to when JJ read the TLJ script and said he wished he was directing... it's now clear he meant he wanted to change it all!

I honestly don’t think Kennedy has much knowledge of Star Wars....

I think she’s a producer...most of them don’t think they NEED to know anything particularly important about the characters....

Her mistake is hiring people like her....Hollywood insiders who do not eat sleep drink and breath SW like the super fans do.

The directors themselves are fans, but don't have enough clout to resist the studio directives (except maybe Abrams).

She should be fired and replaced with someone who actually likes SW.

It'll go like this:

It is with a heavy heart that I announce I will be stepping down as CEO of Lucasfilm. I want to clarify that I'm not leaving over creative differences. I've had a great time running the house that George built and made movies that I know inspired young women everywhere in the world. So I've done what I came to do and now its time to move on to other things. Rest assured, Lucasfilm is safe in the hands of its new CEO. Thank you, all.

Kathy K-Mart ain't goin' nowhere. I bet she smacks Gareth Edwards on the ass every morning, too.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if it goes down exactly like Snikt just said. I bet if Abrams wanted the job they'd jettison her like a wounded Megatron.

If there is even a hint of her getting fired, the twitter hatemob will crush disney for it

Only if "crush" means create a hashtag for 5 hours until Lena Dunham sues someone because their dog sniffed her puss. Or because it didn't sniff her, and that's fat shaming. #baddog

Regarding snoke’s backstory

a new report reveals that the upcoming novelisation (which Johnson contributed to) reveals some very interesting details about the character. Apparently, Snoke once connected with a younger Luke Skywalker who was in the process of searching for Jedi lore, something we know is the case after playing the Star Wars Battlefront II video game. It's not clear if this meeting took place in person or via the Force but it reportedly ended up giving Snoke a deep respect for the Jedi Master.

Snoke, meanwhile, was a gifted Force user since a young age and used that to see his dark future, something which presumably turned him against Luke Skywalker (after all, seeing that someone is going to be your enemy down the line is going to make you hate them). This report also claims that Snoke was so powerful that he could conceal his existence from the Emperor and that he used his contingency plan - "Operation Cinder" - to take control of the Empire and make it The First Order.

Dunno if it’s true but I suppose it’ll be known soon enough when it comes out and someone posts the main points. But if they’re giving this story in the novel I think it’s safe to assume he won’t be coming back or nothing more will be explained in the next film in his case.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Obviously Marvel's Star Wars editor Jordan B. White has more freedom to bash the prequels than, say, a Lucasfilm employee. He sees TLJ as a metaphor for moving past the prequels (even though Johnson is a prequel fan). Jye and Khev will appreciate that!

(Not necessarily a new concept, as that was what people thought of TFA too)

From this interview: https://www.newsarama.com/38795-mar...nto-through-a-new-hope-and-force-awakens.html

Absolutely. I absolutely loved the movie. I think it was a really great direction after what had come before

I know the prequels are very contentious, in that a lot of people don’t like them that much. They’re not my favorite part of all the Star Wars movies, but those – and Clone Wars as well – are incredibly rich with a lot of world-building. Some of the most impressive stuff now is being able to build on the entire saga, drawing from the prequels, the original trilogy, and the new films. This is all one shared universe, and Last Jedi took advantage of that.

I like the fact that The Last Jedi, in a way movies before hadn’t, grapples with what the Jedi are/were in the prequels. When we watch the original trilogy, the Jedi are presented in an idealized form. We saw how Luke struggles to become one – doing his best, and being a great hero. In the prequels, I wouldn’t say they’re not heroes – but they’ve got bogged down in a lot of stuff. Luke is wrestling with that, decades later, in Last Jedi – the idea that a lot of what went wrong was their fault. The Jedi aren’t perfect, but he thinks they should end in that moment.

But Rey came along – Rey wants the original trilogy back. She wants the dream of the Jedi from when they were children. Luke explains that that idea isn’t real – but she shows that’s what the universe needs. And then in the end, he gave that to her. And I think that’s really awesome.
