Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

The novelzation came out today. The preface is very interesting alternate universe stuff.

Yup, pretty forgetable product. If it continues like this I can easily see SW alienating most of its fanbase while failing at generating interest amongst potential newcomers, similar to what happened to Harry Potter.

Despite its course (or lack thereof) I'm still interested about what they can do with unannounced one shot stories, Yoda movie, Solo movie and Johnson's trilogy be damned.

Yep. Still like TLJ. Looking forward to the blu ray.

Same here.

Still love the movie, can't wait for 4K at the end of the month!

Well, that's five so far.:lol

I wonder if anyone under the age of 25 actually buys discs of any kind.

I liked it just fine- the rage over it was laughable and guess what- mostly forgotten now. They have all moved on to something new

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

In the prologue of TLJ novel. Luke has a dream that he never joined the Rebellion and stayed on Tatooine. Yada yada yada the galaxy is a better place for it.

Leia doesn't want to do Han Solo's funeral. The people around Leia don't want Han to have a funeral. They think it's a waste of time. Admiral Ackbar is the only who wants to honor Him. He has to convince Leia to do the funeral. During the funeral, the people there just want it to be over.

On Endor, Han is carving a figure of Leia and she looks at it and asks him if that's one of the Ewoks. He gets angry and throws it against the wall and it breaks.

Han Solo was ****ed up in TFA. Not as bad as Luke but still significant. As was the Han-Leia relationship. All of the character progression was undone.

The work of postmodernists.

Did you actually read the book or are you summarizing that guys synopsis in YouTube video?

In his dream Leia was executed and the Empire is still in power. How exactly does that suggest that the galaxy is better off with Luke never leaving Tatooine?

Also everyone around Leia expects their to be a funeral. Only Leia doesn’t want one, because she says Han wouldn’t want one.

The guy in the video has some serious reading comprehension issues, maybe. Or an axe to grind. :dunno

Doesn't mean it was perfect. Just better.

In what way? According to Luke’s dream he was unsatisfied with his life and always felt like he was meant to live a larger life. A fact his wife is aware of which causes her pain because she knows how dissatisfied Luke is with how his life turned out.
