Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

If this report is to be believed RJ's trilogy just got demoted to the small screen:

Along with the HSM series, the Disney streaming service will produce other original TV series, including a Star Wars series, a new original Marvel series, and a Monsters Inc. animated series.

Disney also intends to produce four to five original movies a year, including a brand new Star Wars trilogy written and directed by Star Wars: The Last Jedi director, Rian Johnson.

With the redeeming of Kylo being a very real possibility, I've been wondering if there's a snowball's chance in hell that they could get Harrison Ford to film one quick flashback scene.

Maybe one where he'd be passing on an essential phrase of wisdom to his son (w/ some kid playing a much younger Ben Solo). Whatever Han says to Ben in that flashback could be used during Kylo's turn/redemption/death. That way, Han would get to play some part in saving his son after all.

I only bring this up because I'd really like Han to be in Ep9 somehow, and flashback is the only option. With Carrie's unused footage, Hamill and BDW coming back, Chewie still being there, and the droids being in all 9 (plus Yoda being an option too), Han's absence would stick out like a sore thumb. Any chance Ford would do just one tiny flashback scene for this last episode?

It makes sense and will address one of the main complaints which was that they didn’t have a scene together.

But it obviously has to be a flashback with deaging on them.

Ford probably signed on for TFA/IX at the same time I highly doubt this was last minute.

I mean c’mon BDW is in it and Ford was hanging out with him just a few days ago, coincidence highly doubt it.

Really? I hope they greeted eachother like in Empire Strikes Back. Though I doubt either of them would remember what their lines were.

:lol

Sure, bring back Han for a flashback scene. Bring him back for some meet up with Lando. It doesn’t matter. Whatever they come up with will be contrived after killing off Han in 7, killing off Luke in 8 and having Carrie Fisher die between 8 and 9.

They blew it.

And of Maz Brown Eyes Kanata and Jar Jar's misadventures in the galaxy and dropping off their love child Rey on Jakku.

Mazzie Binks.

I could see this as a blocky style animated cartoon series for Disney.

Mazzie Binks and the Broom Boys of Jedha

Just have it be like Ice Pirates where they're going into some black hole or time vortex that starts royally screwing with everyone's ages. One minute Lando is Donald Glover then the next he's BDW with a giant white afro, Alden Ehrenreich appears next to TFA Leia, Baby Luke from ROTS tells Rey to open her mind and start the reactor, etc.

I’m conflicted.

Did they drop the ball?

Maybe but also maybe not.

I certainly never expected or even desired to watch these old farts retracing their action beats from the OT not even in 7 or 8 I mean lets be reasonable here.

But I did expect them ALL to share short scenes together in ALL 3 movies so yes that’s a bummer BUT if the last one gets 3 movies worth of shared time between the OT group and it’s done very well then my wishes might be fulfilled afterall.

I just can’t see IX NOT honoring all of them in some quality heartfelt fashion I just can’t.

So NO it’s still NOT too late to fix it.

There is soooo much riding on this movie lol

To land a rocket on the moon there had to be some clunkers first but what a landing it was.

For starters they need to simply walk into any Target, write down all the names of the figures that can't be given away at clearance prices, and kill off all those characters the very first scene.

Rose, Finn, Hux---GONE. Then get on with the story with the characters that people actually find interesting.
