Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019
When I was a kid my dad was super cool and let me and my brother skip school to go to Return of the Jedi on opening day.
I was only about 5, and I was still a little traumatized by ESB, to be honest. I remember quaking in fear in that theater really believing that the Rancor was gonna eat Luke, or that the rest of the heroes weren't gonna make it out. In the end, we got a happy ending, except for one dead ewok.
Can you imagine anyone, young or old, giving a flying **** if Rey, Poe, Finn, Rose, or ANY of these characters die? I think the only "death" that would even elicit a sympathy "awwww" from an audience would be BB-8 and that thing's a goddamn soccer ball.
