I think that's currently a grey area because you're not actually taking possession of the illegal file - you're viewing the content on someone else's site. I read somewhere that may change soon though.
The problem with the torrent thing is it hurts the smaller companies and films - obviously Disney is not going to miss a few million from a $1.3B grossing movie like TLJ but people get used to doing it and watch everything that way, even smaller or independent popular films where the loss of a few million may make the film fall into loss.
Torrents are not "the" thing that is going to kill film, but it's definitely one of the things.

ST is a bloated irrelevant fanfiction and a soft reboot of the OT.

Again, by this logic, Star Wars is the only inviolable core. One film.
