Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

The websites were all crashing but thankfully and stressfully I was able to secure my ticket for first show Thursday. :yess:

I had a choice between great seats at a regular theater or not so great seats at the big Imax and I went with the real Imax. :yess:

Hell no i’m not going into that thread are you crazy lol

Yeah AMC's website and app were both crashed all morning so I ended up driving in and just preordering at the kiosk since the theater's only 10 minutes from my house. I bought the very first seats in the entire auditorium, lol.

I got my tickets too in full IMAX. I am ready to be blown.............away.

:rock to you both.

There is still one full IMAX auditorium in Minneapolis but it's at the science museum and a dome and I just don't like warped screens no matter how big they are so alas Endgame will be Liemax for me.

Damn traditional 15/70 IMAX couldn't stay open for just a few more months until AEG and IX hit, fml, lol.

Man that says it all right there and it actually beat TFA HOLY CRAP!!!

Fandango’s new list of top five first day presellers is as follows:

1. Avengers: Endgame (2019)
2. Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)
3. Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)
4. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)
5. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

So Disney... yeah.

Endgame was chosen by "several thousand fans" at the end of 2018 as the most anticipated movie of 2019, according to a Fandango moviegoer survey, which is noteworthy considering 2019 also contains Star Wars Episode IX.

The MCU has fans chomping at the bit to see their heroes come back from a huge defeat. The stakes are high and many signs point to their victory not coming without a cost.

Star Wars has us, at best, mildly curious if the First Order will pull through and achieve at least some kind of victory against the overwhelming forces of Rey.

Ultimately Disney wins in the end (this is a win/win scenario for them) but not in a million years would I have ever imagined an MCU movie outselling the most anticipated SW movie ever.

That top 5 list is insane nonetheless.

LOL at WB trying to counter End Game trailer and ticket sales with a Joker poster reveal. :lol

It's been a long time since I watched that "It's gonna be great clip," did George and Steve really say it like six times in 3 seconds or was the audio put on a loop, lol.

Lol. The hype for the next Star Wars movie is pretty much non existent. There is literally nothing to overcome. The villains got beat several times. Even the built up captain phasma died so easily. It’s a mess.

Someone give fiege the reigns to Star Wars and marvel at the same time. Just produce all Disney films

That might be my biggest problem with TLJ, although I have a few. It seemed to kill any momentum that TFA had built up. Every major character is either dead, unusable, or robbed of their dignity by the end of the film.
