Overseas matters a lot too. Domestically Aquaman did ok but across the water is where it made the majority of its money. Star Wars has not been making much in China where movies are big. So we’ll see what happens next year, but I don’t see it getting anywhere near the money that episode 7 made.

If we have learned one thing about JJ, its that he can't end a series well.

Well at least this time he's got the writer of Justice League helping him finish the story in a satisfyi--I'm sorry I can't even type it with a straight face I just can't.

;)

Once you're in the theater, you'll see that you're far from alone. And when the box office numbers start coming in, you'll be wondering where in the world all of those ticket sales are coming from when "everyone" had been insisting that SW is dead, and that "no one" cares about these new movies.

The MCU is the standard bearer for audience enthusiasm right now. That enthusiasm is measured in money/box office. Yet, after End Game passes $1 billion (easily) there will be a total of 8 MCU movies (out of 22) that will have raked in $1 billion or more worldwide. Compare that to new SW if Episode IX makes $1 billion: 4 out of 5 Disney Wars movies will have passed that threshold.

If we limit the discussion to domestic audience, the MCU and Disney Wars have exactly the same number of films (for now) that have made $500 million or more: three! I wish I was running a business with such lackluster enthusiasm as Disney has to deal with for these new Star Wars films. :lol

Nope. You're one of two. :lol I have enjoyed it more with each viewing.

LOL Even the Haters Love Star Wars. The more vocal ones like Geeks + Gamers are going to be at Celebration this week and all they do is talk crap about the new Star Wars.

Josh Trank released s statement saying he was honored to have been brought back onboard into the SW family to bring IX home.

I really want to see how JJ fixes this. Can it be done?

From what I've heard, this is how Kennedy recruited JJ for EP.9. True story. All facts.

Kennedy - "How've you been, JJ? "

JJ nods and stares into Kennedy's eyes. The silence is shattering.

Kennedy- "I'm sorry you were sent to such a hellhole."

JJ - "I've seen worse."

Kennedy - "You have... haven't you..." (Star Trek Into Darkness)

JJ- "Yeah."

Kennedy - " JJ... I told you I'd help you when I could... you interested?"

JJ looks off at the distance.

Kennedy - " You can't possibly want to stay in Star Trek for another five years?"

JJ - "In here I know where I stand."

Kennedy - "Hear me out first. A covert operation is being geared up in the Far East. The computer dug out your name as one of the top three able to accomplish the mission."

JJ -"What mission?"

Kennedy - "Retcon Episode 8."

JJ- "Why me? Why now?"

Kennedy - "Episode 7 is the target area -- no one knows that terrain better than you. The risk factor is very high. You'll be temporarily reinstated in the forces; and if the operation is successful, there may be a Congressional pardon... are you in,JJ?"

JJ's eyes turn into Kennedy's. He nods his acceptance.

Kennedy -(continuing) "Good. I'll get the necessary clearances, and the next time we'll meet, it'll be in California with Special OP's designate who will honch the operation. All clear?"

Kennedy shakes JJ's hand and starts to turn away.

Kennedy - "I want you to know I did what I could to keep you out of here."

JJ nods... He believes her...

JJ -"I know."

Kennedy starts to leave.

JJ - "Ma'am.. Do we get to win this time?"

Kennedy - "This time it's up to you. "

Think anyone will bring up Arian Johnson or TLJ at the celebration? Or will it be all episode 9 talk?
