Star Wars: Episode IX - THE RISE OF SKYWALKER

Lololol have you guys kept up with the rumors, ommmggggg my mind is melting from all the possible scenarios “especially” the last shot of the movie, I also completely forgot maleficent two is coming out and I’m more excited for that movie hahaha

So far:
-the ending will blow us away
-a rumored anakin vs Luke Jedi ghost fight
-daisy Ridley told us we won’t be disappointed by this movie
-mind blowing facts about rey’s parents
-all the Jedi are skywalkers
-palpatines role is just a small cameo
-Han solo in some kind vision
-time travel for who knows what


It’s super hard to keep up, at this point this doesn’t feel too much Star Wars so we will see, sad to say that the Mandalorian looks miles better than this.

My guess is 95% of this is a red herring...

We are doing it again.....making up stuff we think will happen, and there is no way a film can live up to the head cannon of most SW fans.

If you can make sense of those newest rumors you're doing well. How all that is supposed to logically work onscreen I have no idea.

What they should have done is digitally recreated ESB from slightly different angles and inserted the ST characters into scenes like Marty in BTTF2 and everyone would have been happy. It's an homage!

From what I gather from the little tidbits of information we're getting, I fear that TROS won't be anything more than a 'safe' conclusion to the saga. TLJ evidently went way off baseline for some people and LF seem to be going gung-ho on repairing that fallout. I know people joked that we're literally getting another Return of the Jedi after the Emperor reveal but I'm taking that as a potential reality more and more seriously. I also don't think JJ has the screenwriting ability to back-up a time-travel plot in any satisfying way - not that I would want that in a Star Wars movie anyway.

That being said I'm just going to lay out my predictions for the record so I can come back to this and see how I accurate I was:

• People are definitely overthinking the 'The Rise of Skywalker' bit. It's going to be Kylo being redeemed and I don't think we'll see Luke in any capacity other than as a sage force ghost giving wisdom to Kylo or Rey. The cynic in me thinks he might do something for fan-service (I'm talking Vader at the end of Rogue One) like taking down a Star-Destroyer after becoming re-animated or something stupid like that.

• I don't think the Emperor will only be a hologram or limited to a small cameo. Like people have pointed out already, he will probably be alive in spirit like a ghostly parasite haunting the Death Star ruins. Kylo learns of this information via the KOR. The Emperor lures Kylo (who himself is being closely tailed by Rey and gang) back to the ruins to try and possess him. The big twist will be that Kylo ends up being double-crossed and the Emperor's spirit tries to possess Rey instead. Kylo now has reason to redeem himself and save Rey. He will be seemingly mortally wounded in the process. I say seemingly because I don't think Disney has the cojones to kill off a Skywalker. They will keep this ambiguous as a fail-safe if the new trilogies fail.

• The 'B' plot will mostly concern itself with Finn and Poe aligning with an indigenous clan of people who possess the MacGuffin of the movie. They'll team up to stop the First Order from invading. Lando will barely be in the movie and will only service our main characters for the purposes exposition as to where to this MacGuffin an be found.

On a random note, a force-ghost lightsaber battle might be the final nail in the coffin for me.

It is almost possible for JJ to just ignore all that was in TLJ... If only Luke did not die I think they could pull it off... That is just how little happened in TLJ

What I've been saying since 2015's TFA. The only way Kylo can "finish what his grandfather (Vader) began" is to get rid of that damn dark side that keeps popping up like a floater.
