I mean is Lucas been snubbed by Iger really that much of a shocking revelation.

Is it really any different then what happened to him in the past I mean hasn?t it already been confirmed from multiple very credible sources that Lucas is not really a big fan of Empire because his ideas were snubbed at every turn hence puppet Richard Marquand being hired for ROTJ.

Was is not the fact that he surrounded himself with YES men and women for the PT that enabled and emboldened him to create SW movies that are abhorrent cinematic embarrassments which set the path forward for the Disney purchase in the first place.

Lucas snubbed by Hollywood, say it ain?t so sounds to me like the tradition is just continuing lol

I don't think "snubbed" qualifies for the differences Lucas had with the director and producer during ESB... after all, he owned the damn thing and could've fired anyone if he so wished. It's a very different thing disagreeing and yet letting people do their work when you're working within a team, and having your ideas disregarded when you pass them on to another team.
The Richard Marquand yes-man thing seems just as much Marquand's fault as Lucas'.

I think we were only supposed to have three Star Warses. I can’t believe I ever said the words Ben Solo with a straight face. Supreme Leader Snoke lolilololo

I guess all those fans that hated the prequels are kicking themselves now , Haha. At least those built on the lore this crap that disney is making is a cheap knock off that attempts to hook u with cheap nostalgia instead of genuine story and plot development. I knew we were screwed when those arrogant ***** said they would not adapt any of the books, comics or game, instead they were going to craft a new story, which in reality ment they would redo the original trilogy and make up some story in part 2 that had nothing to do with the first batch movie.

It's too late to save this trilogy they are not following a story rather its simply a reaction movie to undo all that came in the previous version.

What a farce. I hope this **** bombs at the box office.

Kicking ourselves? The PT to most of us was utter trash. Personally I can re watch ST no problem. I have not rewatched PT in over ten years....

Its that bad.

Yeah, spot on. Biggest sin committed by the ST is that its shortcomings somehow redeem the PT for apologists. They're both terrible in very, very different ways.

TROS just needs to end like Clue so that after Rey triumphantly destroys reborn Palpatine while Rose, Hannah, and TFA Leia smile proudly it suddenly says "and that's what could have happened after ROTJ. To see what REALLY happened stay tuned for Star Wars Episode VII in 2022 from a story by George Lucas, directed by Gareth Edwards, written and edited by Tony Gilroy."

I rewatched them this year so you don't have to. I was not particularly surprised to discover that no, they haven't magically improved in this post-ST world and they remain as embarrassing as ever. Carry on.

I still maintain that TPM/Solo/RO remains an acceptable PT but not because George's bad choices in TPM are suddenly less bad. I just like the idea of a trilogy that distills the three main elements of the OT (space wizard swordsmen, scum and villainy, and futuristic military) into three separate films.

I might feel differently if I thought that TPM had no redeeming elements but I've always had a soft spot for it for whatever reason.

TPM has enough inoffensive adventure fun about it that I could accept it as a Star Wars film but for the fact that it's telling the beginnings of Anakin Skywalker. That I just cannot get past. It was fundamentally the wrong choice IMO to ever depict Darth Vader at that age. And it unnecessarily makes a liar of Obi-wan in the OT by having Qui-gon Jinn be the one to discover Anakin and him be the one who wanted to train him. That's one of Lucas's problems in his PT, elaborating on things that didn't need to be elaborated on while neglecting stuff that was crying out for screentime
