Plus, it's the movie that introduced midichlorians (for seemingly no reason, since nothing on screen before or after gains any deeper value for it).

They bugged me for a long while but I got used to them (especially with their relationship to real-world science). Plus the mention in ROTS helped validate them.

Let's face it guys, the OT is the key to everything. It's why some like the PT, some like the ST, some like both. Without the OT we probably wouldn't like any of it.

:lol @ Khev

I rewatched them this year so you don't have to. I was not particularly surprised to discover that no, they haven't magically improved in this post-ST world and they remain as embarrassing as ever. Carry on.

Thank you for taking one for the team.

I considered watching them again after HT released Maul. But I decided it would be better to rub salt in my eyes and sniff ammonia while listening to the Spice Girls.

TPM has enough inoffensive adventure fun about it that I could accept it as a Star Wars film but for the fact that it's telling the beginnings of Anakin Skywalker. That I just cannot get past. It was fundamentally the wrong choice IMO to ever depict Darth Vader at that age. And it unnecessarily makes a liar of Obi-wan in the OT by having Qui-gon Jinn be the one to discover Anakin and him be the one who wanted to train him. That's one of Lucas's problems in his PT, elaborating on things that didn't need to be elaborated on while neglecting stuff that was crying out for screentime

Obi was , and remains, a lying, manipulative SOB.

But he was charismatic so lots of PT folks love him.

I think its a toss up between him and Yoda as to whom is to blame for the Empire and all the deaths that came from it.

Kicking ourselves? The PT to most of us was utter trash. Personally I can re watch ST no problem. I have not rewatched PT in over ten years....

Its that bad.

Enjoying your ST trash.

Last thing SW needs is the RJ Trilogy.

Welcome aboard, Kevin. Have you tried the chair that says "Kathy?" See how it feels...

Feige to the rescue!

Can SW news this week get anymore wackier!

Well marvel overtook Star Wars as the biggest movie franchise of all time so why not.

When people care about Talking trees and big purple man with glove than the continuation of the arguably the biggest sci-fi franchise of all time

At least Fiege has proved he can have a vision and follow it through. Endgame is an unparalleled achievement and with the Skywalker saga ending, they could use a new vision. Other than the recent Spider-Man fiasco. I have no reason to doubt Fiege. Hopefully Favreau is on the list of potential directors because Mandalorian already looks ‘right’ and it would be kind of fitting see the two of them bring new life into another franchise.

They've already tried applying the Marvel formula to Star Wars and its been disastrous. Star Wars has a very distinct itch to it that I don't think will ever be truly scratched unless its original maker comes back which I'm not willing to take a gamble on.

The closest they got was with TFA until everyone realised it for what it was.

Bay has more of an identity than JJ at least. The most unapologetic man in Hollywood.

Feige couldn't be any worse than JJ and Rian.

It's a laughable solution from a team that just has no idea what to do at this point. I love it. :lol

At least Feige knows how to pass the ball to the players with the hot hands while keeping the original creator happy. I wonder if his movie will have a funny George Lucas cameo.

I guess the final embarrassment for Disney will be when it goes full Terminator and starts retconning it's own sequels. I'm almost expecting them to announce George's ST now with Feige's movie being the "time heist" bridge between the two parallel Sagas.

What a **** show.

I have to wonder if Iger feels that TROS is unfixable and is publicly trying to come clean about betraying Lucas in an attempt to make amends and woo him back to the Saga so that they'll have something positive to talk about if they release yet another bomb after Solo and Galaxy's Edge.

New excerpt from Iger's book says that Iger asked George to sign a non-disparagement clause as part of the sale but ended up having it be more of a handshake since George has so much Disney stock.

So George wasn't breaking any legal obligations when he called them all white slavers and criticized TFA for being too retro, lol.
