The only press I remember in advance of TLJ, aside from Hamill’s thousand yard stare, is Daisy Ridley plastic-smile talking about what an awesome addition Rose was. It’s like everybody was bracing for the turbo lax to kick in.

Just to be safe I better swap out Rey with Rose before December.

Eh. Idk. If he wasn?t anakin Skywalker he?d just be some dude with long hair. Maybe it?s cause I?m younger or whatever but every scene he did without dialogue was great. He looked evil when turned to the dark side and his reaction to padme being pregnant was done well.

Rey looks cool but nobody wants her. Kylo ren is the coolest looking dude in the franchise and his figures never sold out. Captain chrome soldier or whoever also looks very cool but nobody bought a figure of her .

The majority of Sequel fanatics love talking about how much they love their **** but when it comes to actually spending real $$$ on things they're just mysterically clam up .

I’m guessing Rey figured out how to build or fix a lightsaber from the Jedi Journals, because Luke sure as hell didn’t teach her

A part of a Jedi's training is to construct their own lightsaber. As so to also design it to your strengths and fighting style. But she's not nor will she ever be a "Jedi" in any sense of the word. And since she only ever duels Kylo and repeatedly whips his ass, why bother making her own lightsaber when she already has one. Rey has no "Hero's" journey what so ever in these movies, so why bother for the 3rd and final pray movie with these characters. She just "Is".

Plus from a merch standpoint, more people will buy and want any collectibles made from it in knowing it was Anakin's and Luke's repaired lightsaber rather than some lightsaber Rey designed...
