It'd be just another forgotten 90's space move like The Fifth Element and Lost in Space.

However if TPM somehow kicked things off in 1977 then yeah it would have found a huge audience. Not ANH huge but it still would have been big.

I do think that if TFA had followed the 3 year release schedule and come out in 1986 that it would have been well received. And then if TLJ went up against Batman in 1989? Hmm, lol.

Instead of Bette Midler The Rose movie we would?ve had a war movie called The Rose:

It?s funny how TFA hype was off the charts and now years later people are ? meh? to the ending of the Skywalker saga .

It was the return of Star Wars to the big screen with the original cast and familiar OT elements.

If only it had the same fate as John Carter.

1977 TPM would have been a very different film.

Same with 1985 TFA and 1989 TLJ. They'd actually be George Lucas' Star Wars for one.

You say that like its a good thing.

PT was all Lucas.

Did they show a new trailer. I thought it would be during MNF..but it didn?t happen :dunno

Was it during the NLCS game?

Remember that episode of Seinfeld where Kramer said it made no sense for boys to fetch balls at tennis matches and so he auditioned and was so much faster and everything thought it was such a good idea? Until he misjudged the trajectory of a ball and absolutely obliterated Monica Seles when diving for it, lol.

That's how I'm picturing that we all might react when the credits roll on the final chapter of the ST, lol.

As I understand it:

Boyega’s agent tweeted “trailer 10/14!”

Boyega tweeted “wut? IDK”

Some obsessed nerd site is saying next Monday & errbody’s going with that now.

Dunno if there’s been official word.

Yeah, the sites/sources who seem to have had the best track record with accurate leaks are saying the 21st on MNF for the trailer premier, with tickets going on sale immediately thereafter. Some of these guys have even suggested/leaked specific new footage that will be in the trailer. If that stuff is in there, then their plot leaks for the entire film will also likely be accurate.

Looking for leaks/spoilers for SW is new to me, and I'm finding it hard to believe that info so detailed, thorough, and specific can be leaked this easily. If the trailer leaks do indeed prove accurate on Monday, I wonder wtf is going on at LFL/Disney where so much info (even actual footage!) can be leaked out by multiple sources to random dudes running their own websites.

Without really spoiling much here, this is one key thing to look for that would verify the accuracy of the leaks: Kylo approaching a giant cube that is floating above a rocky and desolate planet surface. If that's in there on Monday, the whole TROS plot that's out there already is likely accurate as well. :slap :lol

Wait, The Borg are in Star Wars now? Somebody should tell JJ that he's mixing up his franchises. :lol
