The good bits outweighs the bad imo. I can look past the bad dialogue. When nobody is talking every is good. Like the mustafar fight or various other things. Plus I cared about the fall of anakin. It was interesting. I don?t care about finn or Poe or Rey. The development is just not there.

We just dont agree on this stuff....

That battle , was a joke, way too long, out right implausible.

People pick on space Leia saying what she did was not physically possible.

Let me tell you, you cannot in anyway be that close to molten rock. Never mind the temperature, the fumes would bake your lungs , and you would pass out due to lungs not being able to absorb oxygen in that temperature.

But back then, we didnt cut stuff apart in our space wizard movies like we do today.

Do not get me started on the pure unbelievably bad physics throughout the PT

Yeah but that's the best lightsaber fight in the saga.

Not to me. ESB has that honor.

Twirling lightsabers like some high school cheerleader does not make for a good battle.

I prefer the Maul duel over the RoTS any-day, and that one was still over choreographed.

Agreed, and the magma proximity always bothered me, from Day 1.

Me three.

ESB = simple and elegant, with actual drama in the battle since Luke is clearly outmatched by Goliath Vader.

ROTS = implausible, silly, overly-choreographed, unrealistic moves, not exciting, no challenge, no drama... and that whole high-ground (which is for castles) idiocy.

I'm not certain why people who love the PT (because they saw them when they were young) can't disassociate themselves from their 8-yr-old self now that they're grown and see the inherent problems with those movies. You can still love something for the nostalgia value even though you can now see the faults -- you are supposed to get smarter and more discerning with age.

:exactly:

That Mustafar duel literally seemed to be an hour long. And that Ewan PT affected accent (clever Alec impression that is grating after about ten minutes,) Hayden in full brood mode, lots of yelling of bad lines about chosen ones, all the CGI and floating hoverboards and stuff. Ugh. You could have cut it by 2/3s and it still would have been long.

And then it ends with the Frankenstein thing. ROTS is the only PT I can rewatch but jeez it has some bad stuff toward the end.

Yeah, not even close I'm afraid. Even as a guy that grew up with the prequels, the primal Jedi fight always took that title for me although in terms of film grammar, the Empire fight is superior.

Sorry.. OT duels all the way. ESB is one of those battles like Rob Roy. The villain just toys with the hero, and doesn't have to do anything fancy to do it. He's just that much better. TPM is a good fight though IMO because of the way it is choreographed. Anakin vs Obi-Wan isn't.

On another note, if there's one thing I hate during lightsaber fight discussions, it's people on youtube and the like using extended material, and changes to the sw universe over the years to explain the lack of fanciness in the OT fights, especially Ben vs Vader. When the answers are actually much simpler. It was 1977, and Lucas didn't have the tools to make them ROTS levels of fancy, nor had changed his idea of what Jedi combat should be at that point.

Whats wrong with people using their imaginations to create in-universe explanations for inconsistencies?

meh i looked over that stuff. It's a movie about space wizards. I believed that the planet had some type of cooling system or something

Hate is probably too strong a word, but I just think it's silly to argue back and forth about why Obi-wan and Anakin slowed down so much in 1977 after their 'previous' encounter in 2005.. when there isn't a movie explanation, nor needs to be. The movie was written and made 30 years earlier, and they were older men stick fighting on a more limited effect budget

Weird that Dark Fate bombed. It?s almost like killing off your franchise?s main hero and replacing him with a bunch of nobodies was a terrible idea or something.

Hmm, there was another franchise that recently did that same thing wasn?t there? Can?t quite place my finger on it...

But people want to make it... real.

:lol

Boy are people gunna be pissed when they find out TROS starts with the ST gang sending C3P0 back in time to kill Luke Skywalker at the Yavin Award Ceremony.

Which of course will then have Leia seeking out the next greatest leader of the Resistance.
