Seriously, JJ knows. He KNOWS.

That you make a "SW movie" with just Hux, Kylo, Poe, Rey, Rose, BB-gun and Finn - even with the milking of the droids/Chewy - that you're NEVER gonna get past that billion.

And if you'd made an entire ST trilogy with no Han, Luke, Leia or Palps, trading solely on the mythic tapestry of Rey Skypatine and Soylo Ren... oh boy.:horror:lol

Of course you?d say that. You liked TLJ lmso. Jk

That?s ok I never get offended.

Look believe me when I say that I can hate hate hate hate hate just as much as the DiFabios, Otos, Talibanes, Wor-Gars and Clowns of this world BUT when it comes to SW I have a very deeply personal relationship with it that at best maybe at one point in my life my mother probably understood it because she was there from its inception but otherwise not even my wife understands and sometimes I even lose sight of how connected I am to it.

But it exists deep in my bones my dna.

So even though I was disappointed with TPM I still remained super excited for AOTC but then when I was disappointed with AOTC did that kill my enthusiasm for SW.

Nope of course not because I was again super excited for ROTS.

I can?t help it dude it?s just who I am, i?m a kid again when it comes to SW and JUST WITH SW!

You can never compare this to Marvel, Marvel set out to do a series of films with an epic end. Lucas did a trilogy with and end, given a chance, he told the story that led up to that which he wanted and that seemed to be done, and now Disney is expanding just to do it. When you continue series and make sequels without a plan, it almost never works out.

Jye, you are in an abusive, co-dependent relationship.

We need to plan an intervention.

i mean watching the documentary The toys that made us and seeing the star wars sections confirms the whole royalties and lucas bit, but like most stated people look forward to the mandalorian weekly episodes than TROS, LOL, everyone wants to see this to see how it will be anyways like myself, but this will be a one off film for a lot for sure

"I didn't hit it that hard... must have had a self destruct or something....":lol

Single shot from small pistol.

It's true - the fact I went and saw AOTC after TPM and ROTS after AOTC is pretty remarkable.

But those were different, confusing days - like it was all a mistake and George would make it right the next time.

I have zero faith TROS will make anything right, especially because this new TV teaser has pretty much 100% confirmed that all the leaked story is accurate. That thing with the lightning and fleet inferred in that new clip will be just jaw-droppingly stupid.

How did less than 30 seconds, with zero dialogue confirm anything?

Just wondering?

Have you read the spoilers? If you have, over the teaser, the full trailer, various pics and toy reveals and this new mini-trailer you can see pretty much all of it lines up. If that space-headed lightning in the new mini-trailer is what the leaks say it is (and Kylo arriving by fighter with saber and Rey standing before a jagged throne says it is), that is so lame.

Yea thst last tv spot confirmed a leak. Can?t wait for the 20th to see the rage from fans

Rage seems to be the resting heart rate of SW fandom, particularly those that make & follow Youtube content. There are too many people relying on clicks for anything but rage upon release but I still think the general audience will embrace this and maybe crinkle their foreheads at the nerd politics if they even notice it.

There seem to be a lot of people on YT that make videos of literally just scrolling through an offending news article (sometimes literally just one) and get hundreds of thousands of views.

I think it's a given that Episode 9 will do decently well at the box office. But this is a trilogy ending holiday release, it should be breaking or coming close to breaking records. It needs support from the hardcore fanbase that it doesn't have. The future of Star Wars is The Mandalorian and Favreau not Rey, Kylo, and Kennedy.

I agree, it’s a shame this isn’t a more uniformly celebratory time for the fandom but what can you do? We got a rushed trilogy for a timeframe we never really expected to see. In retrospect, it all makes sense in a cynical way. I only say retrospect because I was personally hopeful for so long. I know a lot of fans recognized the hoofprints well before I did.

I can agree with this assessment.

SW is the ONE franchise that I start with a clean emotional slate prior every release not because they earned it but because i?m a HUGE fan of the elements that makes it whole.

I actually feel bad for other true SW -diehards- who are now so jaded inside that they actually completely write off a brand new 250 million dollar STAR WARS movie sight unseen based on the previous chapter instead of judging it by its own merits.

I admit that as it gets closer it seems very unlikely that I will sit it out.

I’m kind of at peace with TLJ. I don’t think RoS can make anything worse.

I’m more worried about RJ directing Mandalorian than anything JJ can do.

RJ is a hypocritical jerk for judging others with zero self reflection.

But SW is much bigger than RJ for me so never in a million years would I ever allow a RJ to ruin the next SW movie for me.

Remember when new SW was non existent I certainly do so when i?m given a new super expensive new movie my first reaction is not to celebrate it?s failure BEFORE even seeing it.
