Absolutely. It loses out on "greatness" within my "strict" genre reading and maybe due to the lack of chemistry I mentioned above, but it's one of my favourite Star Wars films nonetheless and I'm really glad we got it.

Spot on. I get that he's been on the run and got shuttled between rebel cells and tortured, so a sloppy uniform, beard and wild-eyed look I get, but the long hair always threw me. That's just not Imperial. Sure he's just a cargo pilot but even so.

But even Han Solo does not have the imperial look. Maybe the hair is more of an officer thing....

i mean it should be close 300 million, because, star wars, a franchise you saw as a kid back in the late 70?s, heck the mcu accomplished this in less than 11 years but after 40 years all fans should be excited and selling out show like TFA. but yeah we all know it will make decent numbers but not record breaking numbers... plus we all know how disney cheats by selling the tickets for an extra 2 dollars on top of regular prices so yeah it helps them look good

Take the tinfoil hat off son. What Marvel accomplished has never been done before and may never be repeated this successfully. Also Disney owns them both so win win. ;)

I can’t take box office earnings seriously as a measure of a movies “success” anymore. I mean, I hated TLJ, so did many of my friends, and I couldn’t care less about the ST anymore but I’m still going with a group opening weekend.

Some of us going that weekend love TLJ and the ST and some of us don’t but we’re still going so we can jaw about it afterward. I imagine there will be a lot seeing it in the theater that feel the same way.

Indeed. I Hated Attack of the Clones yet went to Revenge of the Sith just to see how George would close off that Meh trilogy.

this must be the last last last last last last and final final trailer teaser

Exactly. And while some of the latest trailers look cool I just don?t think anything done in Ep9 will bring me back to liking the ST.

Prove me wrong, JJ!

While they’re at it with killing the OT cast off, how much you want to bet that X-wing getting shot down when Poe screams “NO!!!” is Wedge? :lol

KK to JJ:

"Wipe them out. All of them."

Hmm JJ's Esquire interview is actually kind of endearing. He basically says that even if TROS is a mixed bag at best that hopefully audiences can still love it for the parts they got right.

They should use that line for the posters and TV spots. :lol

"I didn't hit it that hard... must have had a self destruct or something....":lol

Single shot from small pistol.

It's true - the fact I went and saw AOTC after TPM and ROTS after AOTC is pretty remarkable.

But those were different, confusing days - like it was all a mistake and George would make it right the next time.

I have zero faith TROS will make anything right, especially because this new TV teaser has pretty much 100% confirmed that all the leaked story is accurate. That thing with the lightning and fleet inferred in that new clip will be just jaw-droppingly stupid.
