with all due respect , I?ve had enough of this contention. I don?t mean the different viewpoints. I mean the constant flow of fighting, put downs, and general bad behavior. Barely a page can go by without this toxic culture.

Can someone please point me to a place I can chat with other Star Wars Fans who like the new stuff, where we won?t constantly be attacked or berated by people who hates the new stuff?

I know there are reasons to hate the new stuff, I get it, I don?t care I still like it.

Or if this is the place, then Would moderators kindly please do their job?

I want to have some friends to talk with Star Wars about, but after reading a few pages here I literally felt like throwing up I was so disgusted. So I may just go away, If there are no positive options.

I don?t mean the last few messages either, by and large, these are tame compared to some of the ones I was seeing.

Good luck here. I don't want an echo chamber but this place has become so negative about every detail no matter how minor this forum is not longer fun to read.

I'm excited, not expecting to like every single detail because I never do. But I like the sequel trilogy a lot. And I want to see the story of the Skywalker family end so I can be done caring as much as I do for the future Star Wars. It's not fun to talk to "fans" anymore. Between politics and SW I'm ready to check out of talking to people except face to face where civility is sometimes found.

You are easily one of the biggest offenders of being a complete ******* to anyone who likes the new films.
Cannot wait for the reprimand for calling you an complete **** but it was worth it as I'm done with this forum. Enjoy being completely miserable and hating anyone with a different view than you.

How many times are you going to announce your departure? By now you must have "left" this forum three or four times.

And for what it's worth I don't want you to get reprimanded. I want this forum to be a place where people can freely speak their mind. I don't hate folks I don't know either, but I do hate the Sequel Trilogy. Carry on...

"I wanted to have this mythological footing because I was basing the films on the idea that the Force has two sides, the good side, the evil side, and they both need to be there. Most religions are built on that, whether it's called yin and yang, God and the devil - everything is built on the push-pull tension created by two sides of the equation. Right from the very beginning, that was the key issue in Star Wars."

George Lucas, Time Magazine, 2002

So, where is the 'Star Wars Sequel Trilogy Negativity Thread!' ?

:devil

How many times are u gonna say your done with the forum? Just stop whining and leave then.

Seems like ST fans can?t take when someone has a negative opinion on the film and starts crying.

I think they need that safe space thread.

It?s a discussion forum. We can discuss the good and bad. If you want to make a thread about how you love the ST then do it. People can discuss and have different opinions on the franchise. That?s what a forum is for. If you want to have a big hugging party then make a Star Wars positivity thread.

You are the godfather of the positivity thread :lol :lol :lol

If this were Facebook you would be the Winklevoss twins and KerotanFrog is apparently Zuckerberg :lol

Very true. I have noticed this as well.

However, I’ve also noticed that conversely, a lot of OT purists also are unable to take any sort of criticism towards the OT, and will vigorously defend everything about it, often citing their precious childhood.

I just want a place to discuss the actual film, without wading though 6 pages of joke about Rose and KK.

Must be a Millennial thing. They have not been raised to deal with criticism well and it certainly shows.

I believe you can learn as much from negativity as you can from positivity. And in most cases it tells you much more about the speaker than it does about the content.

My SW loving friends and I regularly eviscerate the OT for shiggles.

Wasn’t there just a nice run on the goofy skiff choreography? More like the desert whiff amiright?

I love ROTJ but that one gif has so much concentrated lulz.

The OT has its share of goofs and bad dialogue.

I mean, lines like "A death mark is not an easy thing to live with." :lol

Acceptance and preference of any trilogy comes with relativity and when you saw it.

Very true. Just because you lean to one side, doesn’t mean you have to defend everything about it. I feel that approaching things on an individual basis and having a sound opinion on it is more constructive than being tribal and that because you lean this way overall, it therefore means you have to feel this way on this or that be default.

Too many people, mostly Gen Y and Z, I feel are tribal and tend to wear their emotions on their sleeve.

SW apparently has that effect on both ST and OT lovers because people get invested in it emotionally, and as you said, a lot of it depends on what time in your life you saw it.

SW is serious biz. :lol
