Leaks are bad. Not a single person read the leaks and said "YES! This is exactly what I want to see!"

Leaks are true.

Therefore....movie is bad.

So....when everyone sees this this weekend, are the handful of posters that are still hopeful about this movie going to admit it's a flaming pile of garbage, or are we going to see a 500% increase in the Positivity Thread?

It's only bad if you look at it as canon. As a movie, it can still be entertaining.

Not true.

I've wanted to see Kylo get killed off since TFA.

With the worst character in Star Wars history gone, Disney now has to get to work killing off Jar Jar Binks.

Ben...climbs out of the ravine. Upon seeing Rey, he uses the force healing trick to give his life for her. He saves Rey, but it drains his life force.

The source then claims, "there's a weird fanfic moment where they kiss, and he dies."

My biggest thing is they are billing this as the end of the Skywalker Saga but these last 3 movies have little to nothing to do with Anakin Skywalker whom the main story is about.

These movies actually ruined the Skywalker saga because bringing back Palpatine destroys Anakin?s redemption from his 6-movie arc.

Saw some pic on Facebook. The emperor looks like he?s cg. I wouldn?t put it past them to do that since the old scrotum guy was cg to

It's inevitable - when a series goes on and on, with writers writing in different times with different sensibilities and political motivations - that the essence is lost along the way. The more story they add the more there is that becomes complicated or undone. It even happened during the OT as Lucas changed his mind (and after it was apparent that the first film was popular enough to generate a trilogy), and it was also the same with the Prequel Trilogy.

For the most part, I think that the standalone films have been a more honest continuation of the story.

*Triumphant John Williams score ends the saga in 1983*

Fans: ?Well that?s settled then.?

George Lucas, 1999: ?But wait!?

Fans: ?Ummm...?

George Lucas, 2002: ?And...and...?

Fans: ?Errrr...?

George Lucas, 2005: ?And then THIS!?

Fans: ?What the...well whatever the case may be, that?s settled then.?

Abrams, 2015: ?Remember this? And that??

Fans: ?Did he just...yeah he did.?

Johnson, 2017: ?I?ma subvert the franchise.?

Fans: *Descend into bitter socio-political in-fighting driven by postmodern identity politics and major creative differences regarding a 40-year old entertainment franchise*

Abrams, 2019: ?Remember 1983? We were just joking!?

*Extra bombastic super dramatic John Williams Parodying John Williams score ends the saga for sure this time*

Fans: *Descend into a venomously contentious parody of themselves from a toxic bricolage of warped, neutered tropes and subverted nostalgia masquerading as social agendas driven by focus groups and corporate marketing algorithms.*

Disney: *Continues to vertically integrate all aspects of the entertainment industry grinding the notion of art into oblivion as they gain total mindshare of postmodern western civilization before extending their reach globally in an unprecedented flattening and extinction of human culture, symptomatic of a sterilizing neo-liberal globalism driven by the inertial forces of a metastatic world economy and its oligarchic side effects*

Fans: ?Well that?s over now and we need to buy more things.?

Disney: ?Hold our collective beer?

*Cue a copy of a copy of an echo of a pastiche of a reference to a simulacrum of a memory you wish you had before you forgot how to live*

Maybe I don?t need to see this movie after all. [emoji848]

Well at least Disney star wars has saved me thousands in hoy toys star was trilogy toys.

And bad robot productions lost all future money as well, I dont care what jj and bad robot has in the works for destroy DC at WB even further

You know, I think I need to look at everything after ROTJ as Elseworlds stories. It's how I view all of the novels, video games and comics anyway. Sometimes fun, sometimes lame as hell but none of them canon Star Wars. BTW, if all the "chosen one" crap I hear about is true I could care less. To me, that was one of the worst elements about the Elseworlds Prequels. Leave the prophecies to lame, lazy second rate fantasy fan fiction and religious fanatics.

I've been picking and choosing my own personal continuity since the summer of '99 when I first heard the word "midichlorians."

When you accept that even the holy original trilogy was pulled out of his *** as he went, not "planned all along, years in advance" then it's a lot easier to just see the big picture and take what you like and leave what you don't.

Hell, even as a 5 year old kid watching ROTJ the first time on opening day, I remember reacting with disbelief that Leia was Luke's sister. His sister?? Come on. You don't open mouth kiss your sister. Ever.

My favorite post-ROTJ project was and still is "Dark Empire" but even that relied on a revived Palpatine, but at least it gave a very thorough and plausible explanation for why he survived and it wasn't 30 years later. I can see now that Dark Empire was basically a "2000AD" take on SW, but I just loved how cool Luke looked in those dark robes. Kylo Ren even rips off his outfit.

If Luke had been under Kylo Ren's mask instead of Adam Driver, I wouldn't have hated TFA.

Yeah, otomo fan, I totally agree with you. I totally get that George got pretty lucky just making stuff up as he went until ROTJ. The sister thing was completely not needed. Why ruin the tension between Luke, Han and Leia anyway? Still, if the Ewoks had been Wookies I think it would have still held up as a pretty good final movie.

While I love ROTJ and have no issues with the ewoks (zippers and all), hearing that it could've been Wookiees always had me longing for how awesome that would've been. Probably why I enjoyed the battle on Kasheek in Revenge of the Sith...
