Now I know why DiFabio doesn't like TROS.. Its obvious that the OT was very confusing for him... So TROS must have had his head spinning ;) ;) ;)

kid my friend.. But boy you missed the mark on that :)

I don?t care. I never interpreted it as Yoda projecting himself into Luke?s life. And hell, xipotec didn?t either. Evidently it took a viewing of TLJ 40 years later for him to get it. :lol

I?m just going to say what everyone in here is thinking. JAWS, Khev, Jye and xipotec have bad taste in Star Wars. They are 40 something year old men that had the privledge of seeing the original Star Wars flicks as kids, but they?re easily duped into liking these soulless, corporate knock offs that don?t really offer much of anything. I honestly don?t see how anyone that is a fan of the original movies can sit there and say they like something like the Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker, which essentially poop on them. It really boggles my mind, especially after reading their criticisms on other things over the years.

Force Awakens, I get. OOOOH THE MILLENIUM FALCON IS BACK. HARRISON IS BACK, THERE?S CHEWIE! I get it. Looking back to 2015, the next two movies had potential. But these last two? The stories are the most nonsensical, convoluted things I?ve ever seen. Haven?t been this frustrated with a movie since Batman v Superman.

Wor-Gar is the only old timer in this joint I can still respect. Not only does he get how sick this hobby is, but he knows there?s something wrong with grown men liking baby movies (NOT from their childhood). I?m convinced that you could make ANYTHING and as long as it contained lightsabers clashing, John Williams? music, and force magic, there will always be a sect of people ready to eat it up.

I agree with this. Also, WTF is that with Yoda? He force projected into Luke’s life? What? :lol What the hell is this retconning (if you can call it that) of the OT? Are people really making stuff up now to fit the ST with the OT? Come on

The ST is cheap nostalgic trash with no creativity or imagination that takes a giant dump on the OT characters we loved. If you sit there and watch with no thought given whatsoever, treat it as some real watered down half assed pop-corn flick, forget the OT or just lie to yourself/delude yourself into liking a new Star Wars movie, sure, the ST is slightly less smelly.

But for people who grew up with Star Wars, of any age really before the Dark Disney Times, how can you like these movies? They destroy the characters from the OT.

I also don’t understand those who say the PT ruined the OT, yet love the ST. Mental gymnastics there.

Why do my apostrophes turn into question marks for some posts, but not others?

Why do I still keep coming here every so often when it is the same mindless discussion each and every year? Rise of Skywalker is virtually interchangeable with Last Jedi, yet here we are, discussing and ranking endings. It’s just like 2017!

Why, why, why.

Actually I never looked at it as yoda projecting himself either.. But he was keeping an eye on Luke for sure.. Not sure how you came up with the theory you had about it being possibly one of his old students.

That's what I was picking on you about :)

:lol :lol So much anger :)

First I will say it again. I did not like the first two films. I find them passable now that TROS gave some reason to the strength of Rey and the handling of Kylo.

For me TROS was the only film of the ST that felt more like a classic SW film. In the way it looked. The interaction with the cast. The fun action. The Emperor stuff reminded me of extended Universe stuff... So It just had the feeling of SW.

You are over simplifying the reasons we like the film.. Its not oh there is the falcon, there is Han, there is Williams music... Granted some of that was nice and helped but overall it was IMO an good ending to what I though was going to be something as bad as the PT.

Man Must have hit pretty close to the mark to get you all riled up like that :)

I'm confused also... That last paragraph.. You seem to claim that is what makes us like a SW movie... But then you said TFA had potential and then list some of those same things..

Is Rian Johnson still making a Star Wars trilogy, or did they cancel that?

The next Star Wars movie is scheduled for release in 2022 and it's not being done by Rian Johnson so I'm guessing his Trilogy has been put on hold indefinitely... Rian Johnson has stated he would like to direct some Mandalorian episodes :panic:

When I say the Millenium Falcon and Han, I’m talking about TFA. I can get liking that one.

I don’t understand how you fogeys can like this last one. It is bad. I still can’t believe they just pulled Palpatine out of their ass and people ate it up and accepted it. It goes back to what I’m saying that if you have lightsabers, a John Williams score and some spaceships, people will eat it up. You say I’m oversimplifying it, but that is EXACTLY what Disney and the filmmakers did with their sequel movies! Oversimplified and dumbed them down. :lol

Is there a Jedi order? What is the state of the galaxy? The film has shown there is no political structure whatsoever. The complete galaxy is lawless now. No order.

Why did she take that name? She has known Luke for what, 3 whole days? And considering her lineage, it?s a joke. Papa Palps won in the end.

Why bury it in a place where Luke never wanted to return to where he saw his Aunt and Uncle burned to a crisp? Where his father was a slave and his grandmother was brutally slaughtered? It makes no sense.

Why is it a good ending?

Don't forget Vader hated Tatooine too, the one planet he never set foot on in the movies. The sand gets everywhere.

(BTW I emphasized "in the movies" because I know some jackass will post a picture from a comic book where Vader actually does set foot on Tatooine somewhere, such is the EU)

Also hated how she didn’t even use a shovel to bury those sabers. She’s lazy. Use your ****ing hands and dig, *****

You just KNOW Luke took his time and used his bare hands to build that wooden pyre he laid Vader on. None of that force ****.

I know right. How could they just end RotJ like that?

Oh... wait...

The next Star Wars movie is scheduled for release in 2022 ...

If its still the intended next trilogy, my bet is that it will never happen by then. If it does, then Disney learned nothing from the ST and again is racing ahead to meet a date. A new regime will certainly change the timetable.

I would hope if there's another trilogy that it doesn't appear until 2025 at the earliest. Take some time guys.

If its a one-off (like Kenobi) then perhaps it will hit that date.

Didn't that second lightsaber belong to Leia? if so Leia had no connection to Tattooine so burying it there makes no sense...

I believe it's a one-off movie by Kevin Feige

In the Disney comics, he goes visits the Lars Homestead and Jabba’s Palace :lol

In the old EU, before Disney, he never steps foot on Tatooine.

IMO TFA was nothing but a nostalgia grab.... Except that it looked cheap and like it was filmed outside in my back yard. It lacked any drama and surprises.

It had a good first hour but then it just turned into an film that was trying to be SW and was not a SW film.

I only like parts of TLJ. I don't hate the Luke stuff and I don't see it as crapping on the character. He took a darker turn then most wanted.. I get it. I think half of my reason for liking it is because Mark Hamill did a great job.

Sorry you found no fun to be had in this film... Its not a masterpiece of cinema. I personally found it fun and perhaps it is a childish film... But somehow it made me feel like a child again.. Of how I felt when I first saw Star Wars.. Perhaps it was because expectations were as low as they could get. IDK.

I have said it before I will say it again.. There are only two Great Star Wars movies. ANH and ESB. All the others have issues in the "Skywalker saga"

If I did not love the Universe, the John Williams Score, the ships, the characters, and the overall lore of it all then I would have just given up after ROTJ.

Hell other then the first two, the films are either flat out bad... Or are very much made for babies :lol
