Well, I'm not surprised by Jye's wide-eyed moment. I'd hate to think what he might say if he wasn't drunk watching it, I mean if he watched it straight with all analytical capacities functioning.

Anyway, such is Disney Star Whores...

They really need to reconsider the whole Gareth Edwards thing. At least give the man "design approval".

Does anyone really buy this ST as the "conclusion of the Skywalker saga." To me that's just desperate marketing to get the general audience to watch a movie about new characters using a name (Skywalker) that they recognize.

It would be like calling the Creed films the conclusion of the Rocky saga just because Rocky is in them as a mentor, even though the films aren't about him and they're not his story.

Personally, I view the ST as Rey's saga. Just like I view the Creed films as a separate franchise.

Nah not the same.

Come to think of it, both TFA and Creed came out the same year, both are essentially remakes of Rocky/ANH, both have a young new protagonist in the role of the previous hero, both never met their parents, both find an old mentor from the original films, and both new films got better reviews than their original counterparts. :horror

Exactly. It's a joke to call this a Skywalker conclusion. Luke, Han, and Leia were used to guarantee financial success and then marginalized and besmirched along the way. Used as props in an attempt to legitimize a host of new and unlikable characters. I hoped for much better from Disney when they bought the franchise, at least they won't have the real heroes of the galaxy to violate any longer.

Greed 3: The Rise of Balboa

Creed jr walks up to a mysterious figure sitting on a throne

After easily defeating him, the film ends with Creed jr back in Rocky's home town of Philly. Some random old lady asks for no real reason, "Who are you?"

Creed jr - "I'm Adonis Balboa jr, fool!"

I don?t see how anything in TROS connects to multiple mirror Reys from TLJ lol

Actually, when she went into that Death Star room where the Sith wayfinder was there was a quick bit of mirror imagery - right before she encountered her evil doppelganger. I recall thinking that was probably a halfhearted attempt to connect the dots.

Yeah I noticed that as well.

Very weak.

Endless Reys can mean only one thing....

I'm sorry this one broke the bubble for you, Jye. Truly. But you'll be better off in the long run. We all will be.

It's been 40 years since ESB, let's see if anyone gives a damn about Rey in 2060. Hopefully by then I'll be back to my 20 year old self thanks to medical advancements watching better Star Wars content in my luxury space house on Mars.

Rey will be back with great success. It's inevitable, because that's the power of nostalgia. If anything, time seems to be somewhat kind to SW, seeing how even the prequels have achieve a certain level of appreciation with the passage of time. Also, just like with the PT, there are people of all ages that genuinely like Rey, so in 10 years, maybe even 20, maybe even 40 years since the actress is so young, I can see Rey showing up in a several movies in the near and distant future. She's an original Disney character, so she's not going anywhere.

Yeah, there's plenty of kiddies who love these movies and, even if not to the degree of our own past enjoyments, they will remember these as fondly as many remember goofy fun like Gremlins and Goonies now.

Everything grows more respectable with age and nostalgia.

Besides, imagine the SW garbage to come...
