TROS had a lot to like - on paper. Stuff like the Wayfinder/Sith Holocron, Unknown Regions, Palps resurrection/clones etc were straight out of the EU. Just a shame it was all an afterthought and rushed and crammed in.

Yeah, with how similar the sequel trilogy ended up being to the EU I'm bummed they didn't just fully commit to it.

Watched it second time. Enjoyed it again. I liked the pacing. My only gripe is they should have shown Anakin's contribution to Emperor's defeat visually.
All Skywalkers dead. They should be, it's the end of saga. Force sensitivity is not a genetic thing (If so, imagine Yoda's parents). Skywalkers defeated Palpatine and raised his heir as a jedi and made her feel as Skywalker. That is the biggest blow to Palps.

But they did visually show Anakin contribution to defeating Palps in his bloodline, Kylo.

From a certain point of view of course.

One thing I loved was Driver impersonation of Ford as Solo and even some Indy with his finger pointing, short statements and body language.

I should have jumped ship after the force awakens. As if it was ever going to get any better, it’s just gotten worse with each film.

Yes as I sit here lamenting about the failures of the ST lets not forget this.....go to the 1 minute mark.

Oh yes the memories of experiencing that in a crowded theater you could feel the cringe on the back of your neck.

Funny how history repeats itself.

Lucas reacted drastically to the JarJar outcry.

Disney reacted drastically to the TLJ outcry.

Rey will be back with great success. It's inevitable, because that's the power of nostalgia. If anything, time seems to be somewhat kind to SW, seeing how even the prequels have achieve a certain level of appreciation with the passage of time. Also, just like with the PT, there are people of all ages that genuinely like Rey, so in 10 years, maybe even 20, maybe even 40 years since the actress is so young, I can see Rey showing up in a several movies in the near and distant future. She's an original Disney character, so she's not going anywhere.

Say what now? Maybe they're still appreciated by people who were ages 4 to say 10 when they came out, but IMO they haven't achieved any more appreciation from those who were tweens, teens or adults when they first saw them. Unless you're referring to their meme generating potential...:lol

Good to see Jye is back. I knew he would come around.

But has he really? Everyone was worried about Kheev's influence, but perhaps he's now someone else's puppet? :lol

My wife looked at me and said.....

That was the most anticlimactic villain death ever

lol

So what was Turd saying again about me and Khev lol

Victims of their own success. Maybe they felt they could do no wrong after the success of TFA.

Most definitely. No way would RJ be allowed to do what he did post-Solo.

The only person I can see being allowed that level of clout again might be Kevin Feige himself. And if rumors are true about him producing a Keanu Reeves KOR film/trilogy... :drool
