He wants Finn dead. :lol

I always thought Finn should have been more of a soldier character.
I know these movies were made for modern audiences(Which rules those of us who were around for the OT out, lol), so the humour is more "current", but i'd have preferred him to be a bit shell-shocked at the death of his squad mate, then back to a soldier.
As it is, he was mostly a comic foil.

I don’t think anyone could take that character that seriously anyway. It would never have worked, he’s not soldier material.

Star Wars is pulp fiction and often runs into problems when it tries to be nuanced.

Finn is a fascinating character concept but immediately problematic for the narrative.

Suddenly the bad guys are humanized and some very inconvenient ambiguity is introduced.

The problems would be less so for a stand-alone film or streaming series, but throw a logic problem into the main saga.

It?s not insurmountable from a narrative standpoint but definitely complicates things.

I?m surprised they didn?t handle the big reveal exactly like Empire.

Vader...

No, I am your father

Palpatine...

No, I am your grandfather

Rey v Kylo Force Battle Desert: EPIC

Rey v Kylo Saber Battle Ocean: EPIC

Leia Han Kylo Resolution: EPIC

Rey Kylo Finn Chemistry: EPIC

Palpatine Lightning Storm: EPIC

The other 90 minutes of runtime: ZzzzZzzz

If I never see D-O, Babu, Zorii and any of the resistance fighters ever again I will be just fine.

Zorii had potential but nope they made her lame instead.

I wish the royal guards battle was shown up closer but I do think it was a nice evolution of Rey needing help to defeat them in TLJ to taking them out on her own in TROS.

For me, the most problematic aspect of Finn's character was his sudden ability to shoot straight after removing his stormtrooper outfit...

I?m still reading that fans thought the scout troopers were horrible shots in that last Mando episode when in reality it was baby yoda that was making them miss at point blank range like that lol

Umm my question remains though which is if baby yoda choked Cara why didn?t he choke the scout troopers that we?re actually hurting him by punching the sack and had kidnapped him.

Whatever he is just too cute for me to care about plot holes I love it when he falls back on his little butt lol

Yes, I assumed that Baby Yoda was messing with them when I first watched it. Surprising to me that so many people didn't catch that.

Maybe he didn't choke/kill those guys because he was in the desert a long way from either Mando's ship or town? He doesn't have the longest pair of legs, so could be he didn't want to eliminate his ride. :lol

I assumed they were just bad shots (and honestly I think they took the joke a little too far.) Why would Baby Yoda use the Force in such a trivial manner (make them miss for no reason) and like you said not to escape?

See that's the reason I think it was just a silly scene that took the decades long gag of ST's being bad shots too far. Because TW, lol.

I think Disney is trying to have it both ways which is never easy.

Both appease the fans and keep the gag going of them being bad shots but at the same time also show them as deadly marksman to be taken seriously when the plot requires it like with the death troopers killing Chirrut.

I don?t know I think as a gag it worked as far as punching baby yoda and him getting his little revenge lol

But I do think it is time to for that gag to come to an end, right.

Or no.

I think another thing to consider is how taxing it was on the little guy whenever he performed any significant feats with The Force. Killing those two in the middle of the desert might have left him both stranded and unconscious - not a good combination. So maybe he'd learned from his previous Force attempts & decided that messing with their target practice was the better option. Who knows? Maybe we were supposed to assume he also sensed that IG-11 was nearby, and it was a stalling tactic.

Yeah especially with the funny exchange two episodes back about the one bounty hunter being an ex-Imperial Sharpshooper ("that's not saying much/I wasn't a Stormtrooper!") But for the Biker Scouts I suppose the gag works either way (bad shots/made to miss.) They are all over the place in tone aren't they. End of Episode 7 they're bearing down on a fan-favorite character and kill him. Episode 8 they're being silly and can't hit anything. Then two seconds after them being silly IG shows up and crushes the dude's hand like 1984 horror Terminator, lol.

And one thing that was cool about IG-11 storming the town on a speeder bike is that one Tartofsky CW episode from 2003 where Kenobi fights all the IG assassin droids on speeder bikes. So there's even an "in universe" precedent for why that would have already been a part of his programming (even though that cartoon is supposedly no longer canon.)

I would also add the remote duel they had when Rey was on his Star Destroyer. I freaking love that every direct encounter they had was one that he won in some fashion. Sure she stabbed him at the end of the ocean duel but she was powerless against him until his mom helped her "cheat." And then holy crap I had forgotten that not only did she strike him after he lowered his guard but also in a rage after he *dropped his weapon completely.* Even Anakin had less bloodlust when executing unarmed Dooku. :horror

Yeah you better freaking heal him and then make out after that you Sith witch psycho, lol.

Remember they put an emphasis on the one scout trooper who kept asking why was he so quiet in the pouch.

It was a really well put together gag because they combined making the trooper annoy the other trooper with wanting to see baby Yoda but at the same time giving an explanation on why they were missing a target at that close range.

Just go along with it ok lol
