Remember when we wondered if Rose would turn out to be the primary hero, Porgs would actually *pilot* the Falcon, and if Luke was going to be flying around like Yoda/Palpatine in the PT??? And that's not counting any of SNIKT's fan-fiction, lol.

I seriously walked in expecting these because I was spoiler free: (for real):

Luke or Rey going bad
Snoke turns out to be Vader/Palpatine
Maz working for Snoke
Rose being a sith or Vader (yes I know lol)
Leia dying
Poe or Finn dying
Phasma dying

Yeah, that too. I also assumed that Maz would have a much bigger part (whew.)

She might still turn out to be a villain

I totally thought the Knights of Ren would ambush Luke on Achto, so the scene of Rey running at night on the island was her trying to get to Luke to help, and Luke saying “This is not going to go the way you think” was to the Knights, and he would have ended up kicking all their asses before Rey ever got to them. I also thought it would be Luke piloting the Falcon on Crait, doing pretty much what Rey did. And Rey’s confrontation of Kylo and Snoke would be happening at the same time as the battle on Crait and they would be intercutting between the two.

I was obviously wrong. And you know what? I don’t care. I like how it turned out anyway.

Yeah I went in spoiler free too. Literally the only SW film in my life that I watched after seeing just the one single teaser and no TV spots. I had no idea that Finn was going to fight Phasma, Rey would be interrogated by Snoke, etc.

All the first teaser showed was Rey on the island, the Crait speeders, and some quick glimpses of a space battle.

Yeah that first teaser did show Rey running and the Falcon being chased by TIE's under a cloudy sky which I also assumed was Ach-To. So I figured the TIE's showed up to take out Luke and that Rey was running for the Falcon which took off without her (hence the magazine pic of Chewie and the Porg in the cockpit.)

The only reason I was able to pull that off is because they waited until like 45 days before the release date to show that second trailer, lol. I figured I could hold out until then.

Hell we're at about that point for Solo too. Not that it matters as much since I already know it won't be "canon." OT aesthetic looks hella cool though.

What sucks is that now that I've gotten used to seeing the 110 inch in the basement a freaking 80 inch might feel small.


But I think it will be worth it for the uptick in picture quality. Good luck with the new sub.

Sucks about Oppo. I guess I'll have to check out the Panasonic UB9000 as possibly being my first 4K player.

Haha I didn’t realize it was an either/or scenario. But still the image quality is way better than even the best projector. It’s the age old question of size vs knowing how to use what you got

Still 80’ is pretty darn big.

One part of me wants Solo to fail due to being let down by TLJ & to reflect how many fans Disney has truly lost and no longer have faith in Kennedy's SW mess.

The other part of me wants Solo to out gross TLJ & even next years EP9, whether it's good or bad, to show fans still support the original OT & it's characters more than any new fans support the new Disney ST. And then see how Disney responds to that mess...
