They tried to strike TLJ down in anger. It will be with them forever.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

It's amazing how long people can continue to cry about a movie that's "already been forgotten"

Well, it did just come out on home video, and Disney had a few months to come up with a "backlash" plan and muscle it into action through media sites globally - which you can clearly see (in dozens of articles/videos) obviously involves intolerant and insignificant "fans," bots and the sinister "internet," and inability to love unexpected boldness (that strangely resembles mediocrity and mess.)

So yeah, Disney comes out swinging and so does the other side - it's December all over again; Narrative vs. Counter Narrative, "fans" vs. fans. But... yup - the movie itself will be forgotten again in a month.

Who would have thought that Star Wars would end in actual wars - with an all-powerful monolithic conglomerate and systems that aligned with it on one side, and on the other, a "small but vocal" group of true believers (seen as "scum" of course) inspired by the very same "old ways" the monolith has tried to destroy. I wonder who will prevail?:lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Star Wars True Believers will save SW, no the world!

By uncovering the truth thru their hyper conspiracy theories all the lizard aliens at Disney will finally be revealed to the world.

Everything is fake except them of course they’re 100% genuine.

Only they are capable of truth and justice.

Man I can see why Disney left 1 billion on the table lol

Haha great post, seems I can't give you any more reputation.

Anyways I'm inspired and right now I feel like I could take on the whole empire myself

Poor Dak, he totally died because of Luke. He told Luke that he had a malfunction on gun control. Luke didn't give a crap. Lol.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

The Force Awakens was on TNT last night and since I hadn't watched it since TLJ's release I decided to have the last half hour or so playing in the background while I packed boxes. It actually plays quite a bit better now in light of TLJ. When Han tells Ben that "Snoke is using you for your power, when he's done with you he'll crush you, you know it's true" and you see the anguish on Ben's face I really like the retroactive notion that he does indeed believe his father and that he's trying to reconcile how in his mind ultimately both teachers (Luke and Snoke) want him dead and how he just wants them all to die.

Han stating a bitter truth about Snoke that Kylo knew all along also echoes Kylo telling Rey that her parents are nobodies.

A few scenes later Kylo's "loss" in the forest is even more easily explained by the fact that his belief that his pain will end if the past that's tearing him apart (Luke, Snoke, Han) will be more easily killed if he has an ally who isn't part of that group. "It's just us now," "I can show you the ways of the Force," all take on new meanings, better meanings IMO.

I also like the dichotomy between Leia's last scene with Han "if you find our son bring him home" and her last scene with Luke "do what you've gotta do, I know he's gone."

Disney and all these articles still praising the movie along with Johnson patting himself on the back is really pathetic. They are still doing damage control and bringing it up again for the recent home video release of TLJ. This must be the longest any Director has ever had to promote his movie. It's not people still voicing the truth as to why we don't like it. Most people & long time SW fans I know/have talked to didn't like it and were disappointed, not angry. Instead, Disney & the gang are trying to further silence us by controlling the media through fear tactics and using their I love everything Star Wars groupies to further their propaganda. Trying to make people brush off the truth and redirect their attention to the angry crybaby "True" fanboys.

The fact that they are telling people that reading the TLJ novel is essential to further understand WTF is going on, actually just proves the plot, story and narrative are a mess. There are many articles telling people all the new wonderful backstories in the novel that further explain everything. They delayed the book for several months to add content to the novelization. That's sad. When was the last time someone needed to read a book to understand a movie they already saw? Really??!

https://www.starwars.com/news/7-reasons-why-the-last-jedi-novelization-is-essential :lol

Basically, Disney is now the Empire with Kennedy as the Emperor & Johnson as Vader, and the TLJ supporters are the loyal Stormtroopers. The rest of use that lost faith and disliked TLJ are the new Rebellion trying to get everyone else to see the true atrocities that Disney has committed against Star Wars and it's REAL 40+ year fans.... :(

"Long Live The New Rebellion!!" :yess:

:lol ...... Is my ban coming now? I didn't use politics nor attack or insult anyone, did I? :rotfl

maybe we are..... :lol

Disney had Loki speak the truth in Avengers, it was a subliminal message implanted into the minds of Marvel fans who most likely are also Star Wars fans...

Spoken by Loki (the voice of Disney)

"Kneel before me. I said... kneel! Is not this simpler? Is this not your natural state? It's the unspoken truth of humanity that you crave subjugation. The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power. For identity. You were made to be ruled. In the end, you will always kneel."

Kathleen Kennedy's new motto and mantra.... Hunt down the naysayers and destroy them!!!

Conspiracy theories are entertaining, no? :wink1:

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I thought there was an interesting disparity in the amazon reviews in America and Japan. In theory, reviews are for the product as a whole, not just the content of the movie or whatever.

In America, where the movie has been released on home video, it seems pretty split with 38% giving it five stars and 39% giving it 1 one star.

In Japan, where the home video hasn't even been released yet, it has a 9% 5 star rating and a 57% one star rating.

In other words, Japanese audiences hated this movie. And don't even try to give me any crap about Japan not liking Star Wars. Did any other country still love Star Wars so much in 19-freaking-93 that they had THIS????

I didn't think so.

I don’t know Khev, I read Rory’s comments and then read your narrative connections and I find it so much easier to see the positives than the supposed atrocities being committed against SW.

If anything I find TFA to be the weaker of the 2 entries the less thrilling and more derivative one with weaker stakes.

TLJ injected some much needed life into TFA for me because I now know what follows.

I will be there opening night for 9.

Opening weekend for me as well.

Hopefully those that claim to have hated TLJ will just abstain from seeing the movie and leave it for the real fans.

I guess if i’m allowed to hate the PT others can hate the ST.

Thankfully I chose the right ones to hate lol

Yes, exactly. Two take-aways after TLJ:

1. TFA is definitely the weaker of the two.
2. That being said TFA actually improves when watched with the backstory provided by TLJ.

Kudos to Johnson for making a great film as well as the lesser film before it better by association.
