No, cancelled my Amazon order. i'd rather pay $39-49 in Nov, then sell my soul to Lucas for $80 now. ;)

Right now at $80.00 it comes out to $8.88 per disk (9 disks).

I didn't wait because I don't believe that this box set will be discounted, not in the amount that I would consider it to be a big savings worth waiting for.

You really think that they will go down to between $4.33 ($39) to $5.44 ($49) per disk.

One thing I noticed with the OT blu-ray SE's is that they aren't nearly as offensive if you watch them immediately after the PT. And no, not because the PT "sucks" and the OT:SE's just look better in comparison. Its just that they are a passable extension of the PT in their present form, and if you like the PT then the whole thing pretty much works. Obviously that's exactly what George wants.

However, its going to be very rare that I actually set aside 2-3 days to watch 13+ hours of Star Wars. And for all the times I just want to kick back for a couple and watch one OT movie then the original versions are the only way to fly.

Not only that but wake up early and have to deal with the crazy black friday MOB and crazy lines? no thank you. I value my time and sleep more than $40 dollars.

It depends...if they feel everyone that was going to buy it bought it last week and will be buying all this week and rest of month, they will likely discount after Thanksgiving for the Christmas rush. I wouldn't count the 3 bonus discs as most movies that have a 2nd bonus features disc aren't usually affected and drop as if they only contain the movie. Also, between now and then, the bluray rips will be everwhere on the net. I'm sure the bonus discs are already floating on the torrents, so from a business perspective, stop the piracy somewhat by dropping the price significantly. During this first surge, they will make their most money anyways. So i don't think 49-59 is unreasonable for November 2011.

Don't do Black Friday...do Cyber Monday or Cyber week like they had last year on Amazon and most online retailers. First year of my 35 years where I didn't go out to shop.

I get the feeling these will be the select few that are exempt from Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, and with Borders gone, there's no more "50% off any item" coupons. To nab them at that price, your best bet would be to nab them used from Hastings or find some disgruntled tittybaby who's too OT-OCD to enjoy the purchase and is just looking to dump them. :lol

:pfft:

True tittiebabies wouldn't have bought it to begin with.

Good point, some boxed sets were myseriously absent last year. But I got BTTF trilogy under 20 which was like 70-80% off MSRP. Of course, as good as they are, they aren't the Star Wars saga. It's wishful thinking but if anything I won't be paying anymore and could luck out and pay less.

Tomorrow is when retailers start raising their prices on this set. I'd get one today to guarantee that sweet $13 per movie plus extras deal.

It's one of those "increases" that lasts for a month or maybe even until the holidays, but it'll be back down.
