I'd take the BTTF over SW packaging, but LOTR is superior to both and would be my first option. It was a cost saving option for the "book" and I feel like the constant sliding in and out will just eventually scratch the disks.

I don't think so, BR's are pretty durable.

That being said, don't you just love the cover art :lol

Just watched all the OT deleted scenes last night. To see so many long lost legendary scenes was SW bliss for me. I don't think I ever thought I'd see nearly an hour of brand new OT footage as long as I lived.

Ever since I was a kid I've known about scenes like the Wampas in Echo base, Hobbie crashing into Veers' AT-AT, the ROTJ sandstorm, and Vader force choking Jerjerrod on his way to see the Emperor. Freaking awesome to see them all at once! By far worth the price of the saga box set for those scenes alone as far as I'm concerned!

And the Mon Calamari pilot shouting "Fried Calamari tonight!" as his B-Wing went down had both my wife and I laughing into the wee hours of the night. :lol

Unless you are pulling these out in a dusty or dirty location and getting dirt or something in the place where the disc goes, there should be nothing in the sleeve that would scratch your disc.

The cover art is bland as anything, especially wih the rich amount of material they have to use, and while I've heard ,and your probably right, that it's tough to scratch BR's I not about to try...I'm quite ____ about scratches and they drive me nuts. With that said there are a lot of disks and the packaging does minimize the space they take up, and I'm glad to have these on BR. :)

I'm happy with the two trilogy sets I bought. The classic Blu-Ray case hasn't given me any problems and the cover art looks nice enough. I would've liked to see the full series set split open to reveal two sections with the individual trilogy art, since it'd make for a much more contrasted and colorful package.

I agree, that was pretty damn funny.

"I wish I could stop drooling" :lol

At 1st I thought it was Ackbar but then I realized it was just a snub fighter.

I was cracking up.

I love watching the making of the OT.

Yeah. i'm glad to have SW back in me life.

I've learned how to like the PT.

I think of them this way:

ANH and ESB were made for adults, plain and simple.

ROTJ, TPM, AOTC, ROTS were made for 10-15 year olds.

If you watch them knowing that, you will love them for their own individual qualities.

I'm glad to read this. I just wish (not sure why) they were reincorporated into the movie.

Really? The BTTF set is much worse than the Star Wars packaging. Disc on disc? You have to remove one disc to get to the other? Plus I don't know about your set but I feel like the disc is going to snap in half when trying to remove it because it is stuck on the holder in the center and has these little tabs on the bottom holding the disc on. THAT packaging is awful.

Happy to say that the newer editions of the BTTF set has a much easier to use case. With the usual thumb snappers.

For those not buying, Youtube has many of the deleted scenes up. I'm sure Darth Lucas will have them all excised off shortly.

I hear you...I enjoy them all...and while some are clearly better than others they all contribute to the folklore that is SW so it's all good in my book...I can't wait to watch the extras but only after I finish all of the movies.

I have to start preparing for the day when my son will tell me that AOTC is a better movie than ESB. :horror :thud:

Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only....ahh ____ it...i'll just break down and cry. :crying

Yeah, I spent a good part of yesterday watching the OT deleted scenes and all the extras on that disk (haven't watched any of the actual films yet) and it was very cool. I was especially happy to finally see the sandstorm scene, as I didn't know it was as finished as it was. The whole dilemma of Jerjerod
firing on the Endor moon
was neat, and something I did'nt know about. I'd scene the alternate Cantina Sequence and Tosche station on the Behind the Magic CDROM, but it was cool to see it on the "big" screen. I was a little confused by the extended Endor Bunker gunfight though...was it the same scene just from different angles? I also noticed that Han's blaster was different...look closely.

I got a kick out of the "Lost Rebels" too, the two female pilots were hilarious...especially the second, older lady. WTH was she doing flying an X-Wing? She should have been working in the galley of Home 1, baking cookies or something :)

The interviews are pretty good too. Mark Hammil does a pretty great Alec Guiness impersonation.

Then you must tell him in no uncertain terms that he is wrong.. Nono not opinion! Just wrong.

Better yet - indoctrination, right from the start. Don't show him the PT :D

The Order 66 animatic really made me wish they'd kept that scene in the movie more along those lines. We really needed to see more Jedi get killed. I was surprised by some of their gruesomeness - like the AT-TE shooting Barriss Offee, and then stepping on her. Ouch!
