Mark Hamill adlibbing "You're lucky you don't taste very good." (Which I think is funny) in Empire was replaced on the DVD with the scripted "You're were lucky to get out of there". So I am not surprised people keep finding these pointless changes that Lucas keeps making
Y'know, that seems pretty minor and unoffensive, but to me, this is a microcosm of everything that's wrong with Lucas making these changes. It takes something that was originally a bit quaint and memorable that actually helps to explain what was going on (that the monster couldn't digest R2), and turns it into something generic and forgettable. What thought process could have led Lucas to think that this was an improvement??? I just don't understand :monkey2

From what I heard supposedly the old film had deteriated so bad that he couldn't upgrade that line for the DVD so he redubed it (which is total BS but that was his excuse.)

"You're lucky you got out of there" wasn't a change for the DVD, it happened during the 1997 theatrical release of the ESB:SE.

Same with Han's awkwardly rushed, "ItsallrightIcanseealotbetter" instead of, "Its all right, trust me," to Lando at the Sarlacc pit.

I remember the line from Han as "you could use a good kiss!", not "he".

So to be clear what is said on the BluRay, "he" or "you".

And that's super lame they got rid of the line "it's lucky you don't taste very good." I did not know about that change... but to be honest after I bought the OT on DVD I don't think I ever actually watched the SE versions :lol

I will watch these once just to see them in 1080p, then it's back to my Harmy 720p set. Hopefully he does a 1080p version one day.

Artoo's Taste - YouTube

That dates back to 1997. :(

No, the only time you see jawas in the pod race is when the two shout "ooteyni!" As the racers go by. The scene with them trying to scavenge parts of a wreckage was never inserted into any version of the movie itself.

Dude, it's UTINI!

PIX!!! I can't wait. :impatient:

A dumb change on several levels, most notably the "Trust me" line was a wink at Ford's Indiana Jones fans.

Bu then, I thought all of the Sarlac scene changes were dumb. The dialogue was minor compared to The Beak. :monkey4 W T F

To be clear it says neither. The entire line is gone. :monkey2

What the ____? Damn these releases just make me more and more pissed... a classic line from the series removed for no good reason.

So is the Nerfherder comment next due to its offensive undertones?

Should be there soon.

You should see me these last few days cuss out my mailbox.
