I don’t even remember the Rise of Skywalker Rey Kylo duel other than the water. Isn’t that where Leia kills herself telepathically?

ROTS is way more memorable. A character dominates another? Anakin gets his mother ****in legs and arm lobbed off AND catches on fire. That’s “realistic enough” and certainly shows “narrative progression”. Volcano and lava has been a part of Vader since the beginning. 2005 was the year of lava, fire and Siths. GTFO Jye.

The only memorable sequel lightsaber fight was that snow one. I remember that one. Where Finn gets his back sliced and Kylo gets his face wrecked. That was fun. No weird telepathic **** like hologram Luke or Carrie Fisher. Just good old fashioned swashbuckling, hack and slash in the snow.

I cant say for sure but I think Jye is talking about the sound design of TROS and that giving it a more epic feel. Also the FX are amazing in that scene.

No kidding. Just have him start out good but then become this badass Jedi celebrity due to his gifts and Chosen One status who starts to resent the other passive Jedi that he sees as weak and unworthy to police the galaxy. He gets a taste of power, gets corrupted, then decides to off the Jedi so that he and the clones can do their job for them. Just like he would off annoying Imperial officers that failed him! Have *him* hunt Obi-Wan and Padme to Mustafar instead of Anakin just hanging out there and crying. By a fluke Obi-Wan defeats him, takes Padme to Alderaan where she gets to raise Leia for a few years and bam, a badass trilogy that actually aligns with the OT.

Great stuff.

You have to really work to make him likable thought so he does not come off as a ****... Then let the seduction be slow and have the audience actual have concern for the character and his choices.

Oh well. Wish in one hand.. Spit in the other.

Honestly I can't even watch that video again my PT wounds never healed that was painful

The build up to the PT was beyond epic it was the first movie trailer to be streamed over the internet on a 56.6 modem with Lucas making an exclusive deal with Steve Jobs using QUICKTIME remember that lol

These ****ing toys were awesome ! So much nostalgia. You can?t beat that box art fr it?s so cool. Another thing that makes ROTS amazing . The damn marketing was top notch

I really wish the films focused more around Anakin being a hero and his friendship to Obi Wan.. And how the Dark Side and the power it promises is what seduces him.

He uses on screen facts not made up fantasy story lines

Amazing how a lack of a briefing can cause narrative choas with the audience

He doesn't blindly love TLJ though. He has another video where he says that the film could have saved itself a lot of flack if it just had Holdo say one line of dialogue about her suspecting a FO spy on the ship and that that the reason she wouldn't tell anyone her plan and was worried about Finn, a former Stormtrooper, conveniently wanting to go back to Snoke's ship...

He acknowledges that we can *assume* that that could have been her logic since the movie doesn't say it isn't but that by not explaining her motivations it needlessly left itself vulnerable to criticism on that issue. I myself remember thinking in the theater that the hyperspace tracking was probably due to a mole but clearly a good portion of the audience didn't even consider that and just hated her actions because all they saw was anti-toxic male agenda.

That is accurate and watch closely because it happens fast but in TLJ she actually senses the attack and prepares for the imminent damage about to happen

QuiGon and ObiWan prepare in about the same time frame Leia had

Yes that but also just the overall execution both visually and narratively were far superior to the ROTS duel

In other words which of the 2 moved me more emotionally

TROS did plain and simple

But Lucas did give me a cool Anakin hot toys that's got to count for something right lol
