Let's not forget he almost got "cooked" before he even started his run on the first Death Star... "Not such a bad pilot", indeed. :)
At least I can kind of understand crashing on Hoth. But Dagobah?

"All the scopes are dead I can't see a thing!"

*Beep beep boop* ("Maybe we should stop and hover")

"Negative R2 I'm just gonna gun the thrusters while pointed directly at the planet and see what happens," lol.

Lol

How does that X-wing still have its nose? The land is right there....

I now think that "beep beep boop" translates to "what the $*#@&?" :rotfl

I'm not sure what on earth possessed me but I rewatched TFA the other day, for the first time in years. My 3rd viewing of the film.
I was actually having fun for the first 30 mins or so. Shallow dumb fun, but fun nonetheless.
Watched it from the start up until Rey and Finn escaping and meeting up with Han and Chewie. Then got bored and fast forwarded. Stopped at the battle scene at the cantina/Castle thing. Watched that for a bit. Got bored and fast forwarded until the final battle. Quite enjoyed the X-Wing attack on the deathstar rip off/TIE dog fights etc. Switched it off after deathstar 3 blew up.
No plans to rewatch TLJ or TROS. I'll go to my grave having only watched each of those films just the once.

So yeah. First half hour. Finn and Poe great together, enjoyed their scenes. Finn and Rey were quite entertaining for that first 30 mins or so too. Rest of the film was mostly dull.

If they had only had JJ do all 3 of the ST, we might have ended up with a shallow dumb but fun trilogy. Instead they brought on RJ to do whatever he wanted with the middle part of the trilogy. Oh well.

There are still issues with TFA. Although he's likeable, Finn is still a bit too happy go lucky, energetic puppy in my opinion. You'd think a child soldier of an extremist paramilitary group would have more of an edge. There was potential there to make him a Jedi too, which would have been an interesting arc from stormtrooper to Jedi. Finn, like pretty much everything else in the ST, was a missed opportunity.

The old Rey doing stuff like telekinesis and mind trick etc without training. The hope that all will be explained in the next movie. Lol no. Thanks RJ.
There was an interesting story there, Rey potentially turning to the darkside because she had all this power and ability without cost or training. The quick and easy way.
Easily could have had Rey turn to the darkside to play against a Jedi Finn or a reformed Ben Solo. So much potential.

Snoke. Could have done something interesting. Had him be an ancient Sith. Had him be Plagueis the Wise, survived Palpatines attack but left scarred. Lol no. Thanks RJ.

TFA also has a severe lack of world building and explaining. I seen the excuse that ANH didn't do much either but that was the first Star Wars. At this point it's a well established universe. They ought to explain who the Resistance is and who the FO are better. The FO destroyed the New Republic in that one deathstar 3 attack and that's it, they're done?
I know this stuff was later explained in books but for crying out loud.

I have no intention of watching the other 2 parts of the ST so you'll be spared from reading long rants about them from me.

And besides. The arguments against TLJ and TROS have been repeated ad nauseum over the last few years and I've no desire to retread it.
You got bored with Han and Chewie.

I can’t hear anything else you’re saying. Ever.

You reduced my whole post to that. Oh dear.
I'm referring to the boring tentacle ball chase nonsense scene and comedy gangs catching up on incompetent smuggler Han.
Were you particular enthralled by conversation between Han and the space raison?
My issue wasnt with Han and Chewie, rather the story from that point on.
Not to worry, I know with your short attention span and poor reading comprehension, I too can safely ignore anything else you're saying. Ever.

Man I'm really liking Jim Carrey these days. First he trashes the Hollywood elite and now he's singing the praises of the OT and especially ESB.

"You can do other great 'Star Wars' stuff because it's just an amazing well of material and ideas, but that first series of films was a mythology like Joseph Campbell said, and I love them, I love them for it."

"I love ['A New Hope'], but I got to tell you, 'Empire Strikes Back' has a special place for me because there was a time ... that I got the soundtrack [by] John Williams, and I would put it on my headphones while I was reading late at night. I was reading Stephen King novels. [Laughs] And I would mix mediums. I would read 'Salem's Lot' with the soundtrack to 'Empire Strikes Back.' So it has all these wild memory connotations for me that [are] wonderful, just wonderful."

Lego Skywalker Saga proving popular…

I have all the SW Lego games (as well as all the Marvel, all DC except last, the Tolkien, Indiana Jones, and the Pirates game). They are a lot of fun.

But I don't want to have to play through the ST stories... Can I choose to only play the PT & OT levels? :lol

I guess I'll wait till this new game is either on sale in a few months or until it goes on the cheap in a year or so.
