I am so glad I ended up not watching the show. What a load of crap that went out with a fizzle.

I am sure the Disney fanboys will be creaming at the glimpse of Plaguis. That will bump the RT audience score up a point or two.

My comment wasn't about his trying to justify the act to Osha, but rather to point out that Sol probably had never seen anything like her transformation and likely saw it as a hostile act. Remember this was the same woman who earlier took control of the padawan's mind and threatened to wipe it if they didn't leave their home. Aniseya was just as guilty as Sol in this instance, waiting until her dying breath to tell him she was going to let Osha train as a Jedi. Maybe you should have led with that, sister. Aniseya's death at Sol's hand is the big secret that drove the show's entire narrative, so it's bizarre that the catalyst for Sol's action is so conveniently ignored.

She turned into a mist creature and was about to attack? I know she said she wanted to let them go ..but she changed into a demon and...

So that meant what to him? As far as achieving his goal? (also needs some explanation?)

This whole show seems to hinge and revolve around the choices/motives in that^ single incident, that was delivered in a way I'm still not entirely sure what I saw, what were the supposed character motives in those choices? Or the creators intent for us to takeaway from it? Except we need this event to have happened, so it did.

Also why surrender Mae with a mind wipe? They know what the Jedi are going to accuse her of, so how does that "help" her? Any logical character motive, reasoning for that ?

Not great, but not as terrible as folks who had made up their minds before the first episode are saying. I'd rate it a 6/10. Mostly uneven storytelling, poor character development, and ridiculously cheap looking production values. There were some good ideas that expanded the mythos, as well as some terrible choices. The overarching plot wasn't well written and the show suffered the usual pacing issues. It's possible they could do some course correction if there was a season 2, but I don't know who'd want to hear all the shouting over a friggin' TV show. I think it's virtually impossible to be a Star Wars producer these days. Everyone's an "expert" who knows exactly what a Star Wars movie or series needs to be. While I don't think Disney has been doing a stellar job of handling the franchise (I'm not a fan of the disjointed sequels, Kenobi and BoBF were letdowns, and IMO this is a 6/10) I also remember the vitriol directed at Lucas for the prequels long before social media devolved into what it is today. Some fans want to relive the originals others want to move on from the Skywalkers. Some want the Old Republic others want the High Republic. Some want no lightsabers others want lots of em. Some point to video games, comics, or XYZ novels as being the perfect source materials. And some of those fans might have good points and great ideas. But they'll get shouted down by other fans who'll say they're wrong and their ideas are "garbage." At the end of the day these are just bits of entertainment. Every remote has a change channel function.

Disneys best bet going forward is to make a series that follows Luke and R2's adventures between ROTJ up until they discover Grogu...

I'll disagree.

Don't think many would argue that Andor and Mando S1/2 - and even S3 were well crafted, even if you don't like the approach. I'm not a fan of the much praised Dark Knight films but stand by they are well crafted - specific tone, intelligent, aesthetic.

Heck even Ahsoka had some nice visuals. There's usually something redeeeming, so you wouldn't mind watching a show again. Maybe it even grows on you. BOBF gets knocked a lot but in hindsight - it was FUN. There were cool moments.

This was just - leaden. Like eating fries cooked in week old grease.

There were some good ideas that expanded the mythos - well for me it didn't. This was too clearly someone's personal problem agenda. While every director/storyteller puts their stamp on things, this could have been any franchise getting hijacked more or less. I just feel bad for the few actors that put their back into it, and hope they have great careers.

This badly needs to go the way of Willow 2.

And I watched the clip of her choaking him to death. That took a long time. I can see that messing up someone like Padme but a Jedi Master? All he had to do is flick his wrist and send her flying instead of just standing there taking it for five minutes. Whatever. Who cares I guess.

I wanna know what the wookie was writing on the wall, like was it gang graffiti, shopping list, or swear words over having to wear a hot costume and look stupid, for all time, with a metal detector as if you are looking for quarters at the beach.

And why did the wookie - and some of the other Jedi have hair styles like buns on their heads. It was distracting, like I should be rooting around in the fridge for some 'dogs and mustard.

Anyway, Sol was the only likeable character but he was beginning to look *weird* with the dynamics, 'coz essentially he didn't even know these girls. Then there's the irony of a man being the one to set a twin free.

Yeah I felt bad for him afterwards. I should have cut him some slack - he probably lumped my comment in with some others just on reflex. I'm sure he's a bit fed up with dealing with this nonsense.

I wondered that too because I ended up hating every character on here except for maybe Smile-O Ren. He’s the one character whose arc at least made sense.

The show ended with almost everyone being morally compromised. In a better written show that might have worked but a lot of the choices that characters were making throughout this series made absolutely no sense.

Overall I thought the show was fine. I was whelmed.

I didn't hate it, I didn't love it.

It gave me just enough cool moments to keep me on board, but it added little of substance.

All of the cool stuff we saw was basically bait for a Season 2 (Qimir background, Darth Plagueis, the divide between the Jedi and the senate).

I really liked pretty much all of the action scenes, but everything around those (plot, character motivations & development) needed some tightening up.

Would I watch a season 2? Yes, but I'm not itching for it.

It was better than Obi-Wan and Boba Fett by a large margin at least.
