The top of the helmet will drive you nuts if you suffer from ocd.

I?m being serious the floor vibration from walking makes it move ever so slightly off center just enough to catch your eye and drive you crazy lol

Thanks for that. Really hoping that wasn't the case. I don't get Hot Toys. The majority of their pieces are hell to remove and replace but of course the top part of the helmet most collectors will want on will just pop off if you're not careful?

I still have my ESB Vader undisplayed. Watch me unload it so fast the minute they announce ROTJ Vader. lol

I want this Vader primarily for the base as that’s my ideal setting to pose him in. Was a couple clicks away from buying till I saw KGHobby’s standard shipping has more than doubled in price. This is already more costly than the first time around and then you add that shipping which is only ?3 cheaper than EMS making EMS the obvious choice but then there’s an added risk of customs and even more money down the drain and suddenly I don’t want Vader so much.

I’d committed to only buying prequel Star Wars as I was so late to the game but Darth Daddy is Star Wars. Any other stores that can get things to the UK cheaper and avoid them pesky customs? OSK were my next stop but it come in at the same price.

They are backwards sometimes I swear.

Make that most of the time lol

Unfortunately very true there is no greater iconic setting for Vader then that damn bridge and unfortunately ROTJ has no such location and if anything I would even put the Rogue One hallway setting above the ROTJ throne room....for Vader i’m referring too not the Emperor.

I was sent Darth Maul by EMS from KG when I normally chose standard shipping and it still got through with no charges.

Yeah I think I’ve had an ems from them (could have also been DX Maul) and no charges. ?250 with the shipping is just a bit more than I was expecting to spend on this by ill probably still get it after I see what UK stores are asking for.

So the only thing different for this fro the previous one is the box and display right?

Pretty sure Starkiller was never canon? Could be mistaken.

Force Unleashed was definitely cannon before Disney bought the rights, personally I love that story especially part 1 would love to see starkiller hot toys , as for this vader I'm loving the retro style packaging I've never been a fan of keeping my hot toys in their box but this one and boba fett might be the exception

Lucas himself was involved with the story. It was at the very least as canon as KotOR and the Expanded Universe comics and novels.

Thank Goodness for that. Starkiller's Character was ridiculous and I hated the way it portrayed Vader and the Emperor.
Back then, having an OC Donut Steel who was super powerful and whatnot, going through the usual story, was jarring, sure. But after 7 Seasons of the Clone Wars, Ahsucka, Rey and the entire ST, Starkiller is Raskolnikov... Anyway, most of his outfits are cool, I've played the games about 6 times, and he's Sam Witwer, so that's enough for me.

Default Starkiller plus Sith Lord Starkiller would be a dream come true, ngl.

Is there a reason as to why this has not gone up for PO at BBTS, Alter Ego or Timewalker Toys? The Boba Fett is listed as being exclusive to Sideshow but Vader isn't.

Yeah, yeah, "not canon anymore", whatever. I'm just saying, I'd buy all the SK figures. And Hell, you know what? Lucas helped write that, it's canon *********! ****ing KK, you and your ****** ST. Mara Jade's canon to be you *****!

latest

It ticks me off that Mara Jade isn’t canon as well. I don’t know why Lucas/Disney would ignore such a hugely popular fan favorite character. I wonder if it has to do with acknowledging other creators or paying royalties. However, even now it could still be fixed. No reason Luke couldn’t have met and married MJ, even if only for a brief time. She could still have started off as the Emperor’s Hand and a powerful force wielder. With the empire defeated and a semblance of peace and freedom in the galaxy, Leia and Han happily married with a newborn son, and Luke married to Mara Jade it would have been their Camelot. Mara goes off with Luke to train a new generation of Jedi and tragically dies or gets killed a few years later. That would only add to Luke’s tragedy and bitterness.

Had the sequels not gone the way they did with Rey, another twist of the MJ story would be that she disappeared and was presumed dead. However in reality she could have been badly injured during an attack and her ship had to crash land on Jakku. Unbeknownst to Luke, she was also pregnant at the time. That way Rey could have been Luke’s daughter (the offspring of two extremely powerful force wielders), Leia’s niece and Ben’s cousin—which would have accounted for their strong force connection. This could have been implemented even up to Rise of Skywalker (and actually would have worked perfect for the title). Would just have needed to figure out a few plot beats to creative the connective tissue with TFA plot lines. Unfortunately, the Solo twins are completely in the wind.

Well Rebels gave us Thrawn, maybe they'll slip MJ in somewhere. I think they KNOW some older Legends/EU characters are popular and fans want them. I wouldn't be shocked if they pull it out. There's a HUGE gap between ROTJ and TFA, and the comics are giving us some insight, but there's still a lot of room to play with.

I don?t have this vader but I suspect a a small amount of blue tack will keep it secure. As an example, I put a small amount of blue tack to keep HT Boba?s jet pack secure to the back and I enjoy handling the figure so much more now.

As cool as Mara Jade (Maray Sujade) was she was definitely a Mary Sue before Rey. She has red hair, the trademark of Mary Sues, she’s the secret all powerful agent of the Emperor and the main hero falls for her. Even her purple lightsaber before Mace made it canon, is another indicator of being special and above the rest. It’s interesting that the EU, Lucas and the ST all planned for the OT heroes to ultimately die and/or fail in these future stories. That said no one is stopping anyone from keeping their own head canon about Luke hooking up with some imperial firebrand turned Jedi who died or ran away before the temple was destroyed. Until Lucasfilm decides to give Luke a wife somehow. Even then MJ could be his first, who knows.

They could still retcon her in between ROTJ and TFA.
She could have escaped the Kylo onslaught.May even have been off world at the time.Perhaps having twins of their own.
They could do this..if they wanted too.
soz for offtopic

I was contemplating this one — though I really want the ROTJ — but I decided against it (mainly because he looks too heavy, and despite its flaws, that helmet also looks huge). Did Dave put on weight when they shot this...

Wait who looks too heavy, ESB Vader?

If you think ESB Vader looks too heavy go look at how much thicker the HT ANH Vader is compared to him.

Huge difference in torso and arm thickness.

ANH is THICC lol

I only have a passing familiarity with the EU but it makes sense: where else do you go and how else do you create/maintain/introduce conflict? Gotta put the WARS in Star Wars somehow.

Which is why I think it all should have just ended with ROTJ. I think a compartmentalized (for now) story like The Mandalorian works because so far it's steered clear of the saga and leaves the main characters from the OT alone, keeping them lost in legend where I'm now certain they should have remained.
