Star Wars: The Force Awakens (12/18/15)

Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher have said negative/horrible things about the Original Trilogy. So did Alec Guinness in his prime (prime being alive of course)! How about Anthony Daniels? The dude is a huge prick, ripping cast members, ripping on Peter Mayhew and poor Kenny Baker, even talking **** on Lucas. Look at him now though, taking in all the spotlight and all smiles. Wonder why.

Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure I've seen Jake Lloyd sitting at similar tables/booths with the likes of Billy Dee and Carrie Fisher getting that autograph chump change.


Point is, the prequel actors just don't give a ****. They don't need to talk about anything. Doesn't mean they think it's those movies are bad or good nor are they happy or mad about them. I'm sure all the people involved with all 6 (soon to be 7) are sick of the Star Wars phenomenon and it's crazed fan base. Even Lucas gave up on all of it and washed his hands of the franchise, and he was the most passionate about the whole thing!

Maybe, but one thing remains constant, the PT sucking.

The PT actually made me hate all SW for a few years, glad to be out of that Nadir.

I hold much tempestous malevolence towards the PT for bringing me to that dark place.

The Gungans in general aren't so bad, it's really just two examples of them that really, really grate on the nerves, Boss Nass, and (of course) Jar Jar. I just don't understand what was going through Lucas' head with their antics. My 7 year old actually likes Jar Jar, but even she had no tolerance for Boss Nass and his Gelatinous Jowls.

No freaking way, Ewoks will never be as bad as those goofy looking stiff cgi cartoon rabbits fighting other dumb looking stiff cgi robots, oh hell no.

I dunno, the Ewoks are pretty bad. Little midget kids running around a forest in bear suits speaking gibberish is just as bad as a CGI amphibian bunny rabbit, if not worse. Atleast with the Gungans you can understand what they're saying, well, kinda. The bubble city was kinda cool?

The new trailer today is just ****ing awesome. That dogfight ...
The thing I'm most impressed with so far is that they have really created a strong "bad guy" in the First Order, they feel cold, a real threat. Obviously reflecting nazi imagery works. Anyway nice to see some story beats and bigger visuals.
