These 3 reprising their roles? I'll take it.

Giddy as a school boy right now :yess:

^Your post made me think there had been news posted on the previous page confirming that the original actors were coming back.

No..... But that post still makes me excited! Before I just wanted Hamill back as a supporting role with a new cast, but now I would be happy with all of them back with supporting roles with a new lead cast.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

There was a big buzz going around earlier today that Mark Hamill had signed a contract to appear in 7, 8 & 9 but it looks like it was some fanboy's wishfull thinking.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I love unsubstantiated rumors. I'm sure we won't get any more of those, however.

It's going to be a long wait until May 2015.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Matthew Vaughan is definately going to be the director, someone on Wookieepedia told me :panic:

Seriously, its on wookiepedia and the person bases it on an interview given by Jason Flemyng :cuckoo: :slap:lol:lol

All the best Directors are turning Star Wars down...not good:(

They dont want to ruin the series. I just hope a bad director or directors like the strauss brothers come and screw it up. Star wars is a good oppurtunity for unkwon directors to make their word in film history. Sorry for my spelling im not good at english :monkey1

Maybe they've noticed the hate directed at George since the SEs and PTs. If George deserved it or not isn't the point, directors with other options just don't need the grief.

In what would be a surprising move, rumors at Vulture today suggest that Man of Steel director Zack Snyder is prepping for an action film set in the Star Wars universe.

The site suggests that this new, temporarily untitled film would loosely remake Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, set in the past of George Lucas' sci-fi universe.

The Old Republic!?!

https://www.vulture.com/2013/01/zack-snyder-preps-non-trilogy-star-wars-film.html

He is in fact developing a Star Wars project for Lucasfilm that is set within the series’ galaxy, though parallel to the next trilogy. It will be an as-yet-untitled Jedi epic loosely based on Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 classic Seven Samurai, with the ronin and katana being replaced by the Force-wielding knights and their iconic lightsabers.

I admit, this is odd just because Star Wars ANH was already an adaptation of the Magnificent Seven, which was based on the Seven Samurai.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

We've had so many high profile directors publicly turn down this project that it runs the risk of looking a little toxic.
