That's the way I see it. It was an enjoyable movie that deliberately 'resets' the franchise and lays the groundwork for - hopefully - more adventurous storytelling down the line. It's a palette cleanser movie.

That's exactly it. And it HAD to be done.

Had a fun time. Ordering The Art of The Force Awakens now. (always loved those kinda books)

One of the major issues I have with this film is how Rey

all of a sudden discovers her powers and then beats a guy who has training and who is highly skilled....not even Finn, who has training had a chance against Kylo, yet that chick with zero training just dominates the villain...something not even Luke SKywalker was able to do in ESB, and he had more training that Rey....that made no sense.

Where do you get four "death stars" from?

Episode II has the Separatists giving Dooku Death Star holo schematics, they plan on building it as a super weapon against the Republic. The Count gives these plans to the Count.

Episode III they're building a prototype Death Star based off those schematics

Episode IV the Death Star I is featured, prominent and destroyed by an exploited weakness carried out by starfighters

Episode VI the Death Star II is featured, prominent and destroyed by an exploited weakness carried out by starfighters

Episode VII the "Starkiller": Death Star III, bigger, badder, better is featured, prominent and destroyed by an exploited weakness carried out by starfighters

Kylo's training is incomplete don't forget.
And if she is Lukes kid it might explain that a bit.

All movie art books are great. There hasn't been a bad one yet. Always cool and intriguing concept art of abandoned concepts that are shown.

I always love seeing little tidbits or secrets that didn't make the cut or were changed for the final movie.

The story is so poorly written and kept so vague that this movie actually needs a prequel and not a sequel to it. :lol

32 ****ing years, Batman could retire 4 times!

Still, he's way too powerful in the beginning of the film for anyone without training to hurt him.
It just feels like a bad guy in wrestling who has to lose because he's the bad guy. I don't see what was the point of making him look so weak in the first film....it takes away from the character, because you want that moment when he finally loses to mean something, Imagine Vader losing in ESB, then the final battle in ROTJ wouldn't have the same impact. Unless, he becomes stronger Vegeta style (Dragon Ball Z character) and he beats the **** out of everyone in the next film....that would do it.

I have that book. Really cool. I think you might want to get The Force Awakens Visual Dictionary too. It was $13 on Amazon and has a lot of nice background information. I really am enjoying that to.

Don't forget Kylo is somewhat a padawan still and was holding back for majority of the fight. By the time he is actually fighting to kill, he is to hurt to actually put up a fight. Plus, it shows that Rey may be the strongest Jedi ever, certainly stronger than Luke.

That is five then..... but Episode 2 and 3 is the original Death Star from ANH, doesn't really count. I only count three. :dunno

I agree it's a bit odd but.
The force was being "awakened" in her when he was pulling the mind thing at least thats how i saw it. Then came the line you'll never be as strong as vader. I like how he's not a full fledged sith yet. Give's more to his upcoming arc. I mean we don't know where this is going in EP8 he might beat the **** outta her for all we know....So many questions

You could say the same exact thing right after seeing A New Hope.

Literally, the same exact thing. :lol

You should've seen me last night I was on the edge of my seat for the movie to start and btw I thought the opening crawl was really well done.

Then all downhill as soon as Han was introduced.

Did I really just type that. :(

Technically, the Force Awakens is the Holiday Special 2 considering it has come out a week before Christmas.

We'll have no problem getting Force Awakens on VHS next year though I bet!

So C-3PO is actually the

spymaster of hundreds of droids in a spy program for the resistance

and about his red arm

he doesn't like talking about it

according to the visual dictionary.
