Broke and happy
That's definately my face with this movie.
That's definately my face with this movie.
I certainly would love it to be.
With all the talk of Rey and Luke, kinda got me thinking...that you're right about Rey being Luke's daughter and he wasn't staring at his old lightsaber in disbelief so much as the fact it was his daughter handing it to him.
Saw this opening day and loved it. Not without some flaws but overall was incredible and at times came close to matching the original trilogy. Definitely a great comeback for Star Wars, IMO.
Agreed.
The movie had some flaws but what movie doesn't?
Besides the armchair directors and writers need something to ***** about.
Rey obviously knows who Leia is, her former partner has just been killed by her own son so she's giving her comfort.Anybody know why Leia does not Huge her long time friend Chewie but hugs the Rey??? The two never met until she got off the Falcon... Leia could safely assume Rey was the girl that was captured by the Empire that Fin wanted to save but Rey should have been like..."Who is this old lady hugging me and why am I hugging her back?" And don't give me "Its because of the force" excuse either [emoji38]
I thought there was so much to love in the movie that's it's kinda pointless pointing out the negatives. There are lots of them for sure, but the movie hit moments which are some of the best in the entire franchise IMO. Did I miss Lucas' design aesthetic? Yes, absolutely, was there too much flat dialogue between Finn and Rey? Yes.
But when something as simple as Han and Leia meeting up was carried so perfectly then I can forgive or overlook a lot of the negatives. There is so much to love here honestly if this doesn't do it for OT fans I don't think anything ever will, time to hang up the lightsabres and cherish your OT blu-Rays.
Why was Luke hiding?
I do want to mention that the opening shot of that Star Destroyer creating an eclipse was drop dead gorgeous.
Nothing in the PT can match that striking visual.
Kudos to TFA for opening the movie with that.
