no offense to Finn. but that dude was clearly letting his boner make the decisions for him.

i guess the new order stormies were sexually deprived lot. lolz

One issue I have with the film is how Rey and Fin meet Han and Chewie. They stole this old forgotten Falcon as a second choice and on their very first flight into space they just happened to come across the former owner who lost the ship a long time ago in an area/planet he never thought of looking for, but he just happened to be there the very first day the Falcon flew in a long time. :dunno

SW has always been about coincidence: C3PO and R2 being captured by a band of Jawas who conveniently sell the pair to Owen who happens to be caring for the greatest force sensitive figure in the trilogy. The droids happen to be searching for Obi Wan who knew Anakin and has been holding his light sabre for eons awaiting Luke's emergence.

The scene fits along with every other coincidence IMO.

In the first Star Wars, Luke wasn't even Vader's son or Leia's brother though. He wasn't force sensitive, he was just a kid that wanted to go to the Imperial Academy with his bro Biggs.

Yup and of all the inhabitants of an entire planet the droids find their way to the would be hero of the rebellion force sensitive extraordinaire Luke Skywalker.....if he wasn't force sensitive why did Ben begin randomly begin training him? All kinda sketchy connected like Rey and Finn traveling thru the vast reaches of space and stumbling upon a hero of the rebellion and owner of the ship.....pretty spot on coincidences.....or will of the force whatever.

How about Rey and Finn finding he Millenium Falcon on Jakku and seconds later, going up in space and getting abducted by none other than . . . BAM, Han Solo and Chewbacca! :lol

I still don't get why they didn't just reuse Tatooine. Jakku was just a rip off of it, why not just go all the way? Same with the resistance planet at the end, it looked just like Yavin.

After the second viewing the main thing that bugged me was how easily Phasma submitted to lowering the Starkiller Base shield. She should have laid down her life before doing that.

We are saying the same thing however, I am expanding it by suggesting the convenient plot points has always been part of SW, it isn't new to TFA.

And I don't think the OT is that convenient, well until Return of the Jedi where Lucas and Co. Decided to make everyone connected and have the Skywalker name be "force special".

Remember, Leia and the Rebels know who Obi-Wan Kenobi is, he was a general. They were out looking for him on Tatoonie since Leia's father knew he was there hiding. Hence why she puts the plans into the R2 unit and sends him to Tatoonie to look for Obi-Wan. The Empire just intercepted them before they could make contact. It's really not a coincidence. And Luke? Luke wasn't some special force sensitive being. Obi-Wan suggests that he learn about the force, that's the extent of it. When Ben gives him the lightsaber, Luke doesn't start having visions or Force flashbacks of Jedi and force stuff, it was just a weapon that belonged to his father. It's up to Luke whether or not he wants to learn the ways of the force. Really, all he wants to do is become a great pilot and fight for a worthy cause that ISN'T a moisture farmer. That's the extent of it. Luke is extremely humbled and an everyman, which is part of the appeal of his character.

Luke, Aunt Beru and Uncle Owen got caught up in this thing because the droids were captured by Jawas who were trying to pawn them off to Uncle Owen. Unfortunately for them, the Empire was tracking the droids. That's not contrived or coincidental, it's a story.

Star Wars had the greatest villain in cinema history. So, how you bring a new villain into that world is a very tricky thing,” Abrams told the crowd. “We knew we needed to do something f—king bold. The only reason why Kylo Ren has any hope of being a worthy successor is because we lose one of the most beloved characters.

Abrams said of Han Solo’s death. “How can we possibly do that!? But… if we hadn’t done that, the movie wouldn’t have any guts at all. It felt very dangerous.”

Doesn't surprise me at all. Obviously the fact that theres a "reconditioning" process with how First Order troopers are created, lends to the thought that they have kinks to iron out in how they're created. Kylo even said that they should have went with Clones for the First Order troopers.

It wasn't really bold considering how many people predicted it before the movie even came out and before the leaks.
