The only thing I never liked about Star Trek was the time span from being a cadet to being captain was way to compressed, but the rest of the movie was great. My only hope I for a well planned story a well written script and stylistically the same as the OT

He would be my 2nd choice, and wouldn't be disappointed at all with the choice if Williams turns it down.

Williams had his time, and left his mark. And will forever be loved for that. But...
Time for a new sound. Michael is the closest thing to Williams today.

Awesome news, JJ is a great director and I'm sure he will make an unforgettable Star Wars movie. Disney made a great choice.
I just hope Star Trek does not suffer as a result. Though I would not be surprised if JJ takes Star Wars on for several films, and hands the Star Trek franchise to another director and he stays on only as Executive Producer.

MG's work on LOST and Up literally brought tears to my eyes. He is the only worthy successor to JW in cinematic music today.

He does a great job and while he did a good job on Star Trek I hope he wouldn't make the same mistake in using the same theme over and over again.

I'm sold. If Williams turns down the opportunity to return, this is definitely the guy to pick things up where he left off. With the music playing in another window, I can hear a SW, Indy, ET, Saving Private Ryan vibe all around. Pretty neat! Why haven't I heard of this guy before?
