Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I hope there will be only one lightsaber in the whole new trilogy.

Maybe 2. At the most. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

He used it for almost everything though and that was too much, it's like if you heard the Star Wars theme every time there was a battle.

I would've liked it. I love themes. When someone uses a theme correctly, it makes my heart race. That's how I felt during Trek. Everytime that theme blared, it was like an eargasim.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

This is the best Star Wars related news I've heard since they announced Jar Jar would have smaller roles in AOTC and ROTS.

Jar Jar... :pfft:

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Looks like it's official.

I am neither disappointed nor incredibly excited over this news. I am simply "whelmed." Hope he does a good job.

Yup, I don't worship this guy at all. I am more excited about Michael Arndt doing the screenplay. Color me excited (at least it's not Favreau)

Where's the confirmation?

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

It's everywhere. On IMDB, on MTV, on every big website.

I think it's safe to say it's confirmed.

If not...ehh

The music in Star Trek did nothing for me. Still doesn't, not a patch on past Star Trek scores.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

The new Star Trek score was one of the first movie scores I've bought in a while. Thought it was great. With such an iconic and known theme already established for Star Trek, I thought it would be impossible to create a new score fans would like...and I thought it was awesome!

This is like a college kid citing Wikipedia as his primary resource for his paper :slap :lol

And please keep all these lensflare pics coming. They're too awesome. I'm hoping he tones that look down. Is that how ALL his stuff looks? I've only seen Trek and Super 8.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Exactly...I don't think whether you liked the film or not it can be categorized as a "miss". I think it was fairly widely received by audiences as a decent film, and I absolutely loved it...and I grew up on Star Trek TOS.

Yep, no way Star Trek was a "miss" - J.J. Largely managed to please old fans and new fans alike, and in a film franchise with a fan base every bit as picky as the "Star Wars" crowd (sometimes maybe moreso?), that's no easy feat. Great choice for the new trilogy!

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

It's official. Just got off the phone with JJ. He said "I'm down".
