Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I can't envision any of those names he mentioned on the top of a movie poster....'Peter Mayhew' maybe :dunno

a-dev, If you cannot envision the names Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, and Billy Dee Williams being on the movie poster, Then I have to ask, Have you seen the Star Wars Saga?:lol:rotfl

I don't get the love for Whedon. I don't like 90% of what he does, and he totally flatlined my most beloved franchise, with Alien Ressurection. What a turd!

Maybe there's some good stuff somewhere. I did laugh heartily at Cabin. But mostly, blech...

By most accounts the bigger problem there was a mix of Co-Producer Sigourney Weaver's self-importance and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's desire to make the film a dark comedy.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I like Jeunet's work, but would agree the clash of egos you mentioned didn't help matters.

Can you imagine a Jeunet Star Wars? :horror

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I think the most part of the announcement is that Lawrence Kasdan is involved in some capacity.

:dunno

>Empire Striketh Back :clap

>Raiders :clap

>Jedi (the good bits) :clap

>Silverado :clap

>since ??? :impatient:

Not a bad omen. But what has he done in twenty years? Wyatt Earp takes a backseat to Tombstone, no?

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Joss Whedon best stay the **** away from Star Wars...

But, really..

Star Trek > Star Wars

Better acting, better explained and intelligent sci-fi stories all around..all Star Wars has going for it for me personally is a high nostalgic value and love for the iconic characters within the Saga, even if they had little to no lines and little screen time, and that is pretty sad actually...so overrated.

You're entitled to your opinion....even if it's completely wrong.

Whedon is good at TV and that's pretty much it.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

The guy is a bit overrated, but Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the TV show) and Cabin in the Woods are awesome. The Avengers was pretty good as well.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Has it ever been confirmed what story this will be? Something all new? EU? Luke, Leia or Han coming back? I haven't been paying much attention to this at all. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

It's new and will likely include many of the OT characters in at least small roles.
