I don't bother seeking out political affiliations or activist convictions of any actors or directors. If I did I know I'd probably be annoyed with pretty much all of them. Since political leanings have no bearing on any given film (unless the film itself is political) I see no point in tainting my perspective of anyone involved.

Of course, the reasons they do it is understandable. They want to do some good, and it's intermingled with a need to self-promote and feed their ego.I'm sure if any one of us had his ability to reach out to others, that we would use that influence to do some good. You may not agree with him, but you don't have to. Personally Mr. Hamill's opinion is no threat to mine own, as I'm smart enough to make up my own mind.
