I've washed my hands of prequel stuff but I do have sympathy for Ewan McGregor. I think he's a likable guy and a great actor and he got a really raw deal with the quality of the PT being what it was. I'd be happy for him if he got to play Obi-Wan in a spin-off film that was actually good (even if I personally wouldn't count it as "canon.")

Boyega had excellent chemistry with the rest of the cast. I do think Finn has a couple slightly annoying moments, but he also has some great scenes with the other characters. When he runs into Rey the movie starts getting really good.

Poe in his limited screen time also has a stupid moment. The whole naming of Finn scene comes across as really corny. "Well I ain't calling you that." I think Oscar Isaac is awesome in most everything I've seen him so it's easy to give him a pass.

All the names were dumb but a lot tied to Abrams and OT nods like Finn was originally the number of Leia's cell block in ANH. But Poe being a combo of his daughter's stuffed animal and his old teacher..c'mon JJ

1997 ESB would indeed have the horrible Luke scream. I wonder if they're doing the 97 versions because those are the latest versions that actually exist on film.
