I hate TFA. I will hate all the sequels. Why am I reading about this crap? I made a firm vow to never see these movies and to stop giving the Mouse my money. So why can't I just quit the "speculation?"

Because you lack clarity and self control? :dunno

Gooood, goooood. Your hate has made you powerful.

Obsessions that were kindled in my youth are hard to break. But it feels like I've crossed that thin line between love and hate.

I still cherish and adore the OT. But every little scrap of info about the new stuff makes me angrier. I'm not begrudging anyone their opinions. Everyone has a right to enjoy this stuff. But for me I guess it's just sitting back in disbelief into how far it's devolved. How heartless it all is.

Go to Burbank, CA with 400 pounds of TNT strapped to you and demand that Disney relinquish their $4,000,000,000,000 investment.

Actually, if you read that with Forest Whitaker's voice, it's kind of beautiful. :lol

As a kid I pictured Anakin looking like this.

I don't see how anyone could be fond of Sebastian Shaw. I always thought he was goofy in ROTJ. Not him as an actor obviously, but just what they did with Anakin/Vader. Goofy looking and sounding in the unmasked scene, goofy looking and cheesin' smiling as a Force ghost.

Should have gotten Prowse in there with deformity prosthetics like the Empire Strikes Back concept sketches when it was said that he fell into a nuclear reactor.

Prowse's eyes are almost there.

I saw this picture in some "Making - of" book back when I was 6. Its the sword master that stood in for Vader during the Cloud City duel.

Back then in my childhood mind, I thought that this literally was a picture of Darth Vader unmasked. And from then on until I saw ROTJ pictured him like this.

Then when I was a little bit older and started wondering about what Anakin was like before he became Vader, the thought that first popped into my head (and still sticks as what Vader should have been like) was something closely resembling Jamie Lannister from Game of Thrones.

Then the prequels came out and completely destroyed this image by turning Anakin into an awkward and whiney man child. Even today I cannot fully connect the two characters in my mind.

Top pick looks like a much older anakin.

When I was wee, I always thought Anakin would have a moustache and goatee because the mask has them -- like a dark Errol Flynn kind of look, classic black knight.

Instead, in 1983 I got eyebrows! Big eyebrows.

Don't worry. George killed the eyebrows. The eyebrows can never hurt you again.

Love that samurai look.

Lucas should've went full Kurosawa.

The Force Awakens should have featured TIE Interceptors. They were an evolutionary upgrade that featured quad laser cannons at the four front tips of their wings (similar to an X-Wing) and were supposed to be much faster than standard TIE's.

latest

Why would the First Order abandon them? I know that Abrams wanted every single silhouette in the movie to harken back to ANH but we could have had the best of both worlds. Special Forces TIE's with rear gunners supplementing waves of Interceptors. And Starkiller Base should have had more aerodynamic atmospheric TIE's like what we saw on Scarif.

From RO to ROTJ both the Rebels and the Empire have new and setting-specific ships across all four films. TFA stands out as having neither when in fact after 32 years you'd think it would have had the most dramatic upgrades of all.

That is a cool look for sure.

Agreed.
We may see different designs in Ep VIII.

TIE Interceptors are my favorite Imperial fighter. :rock

It would have been awesome to see them on the big screen again.
